Yes....Jeff Zwart is a very good driver who's skills have been honed from the seat of a 914-6...... aktion035.gif

I asked this before but does anyone know if a 914 has ever been entered in Pike's Peak? Did Zwart ever enter his -6?

914 World should sponsor a pike's peak effort next year!

Is there a category for limos? The 914 limo should dust any other limo out there.

Don't know if Jeff ever drove his 914-6 @ Pikes Peak. Google "jeff zwart 914-6 pikes peak" click on Porsche 914 issue-Porsche market letter.

I did but it didn't say he ran the -6 up the hill. I couldn't open the story up in a link.

As the article says....in 1976 Garretson owned 914-6's ran Pikes Peak. Rick Mears drove one to first place just missing a record...... aktion035.gif

Beef up the hell out of a nice 914 Chassis, stick a 3.8 or 4.0 current Porsche racing engine in there and give it a run. Zwart was working pretty hard behind the wheel. A 914 would be a great idea because you know Porsche would not condone such action from a Cayman. idea.gif

Awesome video driving.gif

Thanks,

Yeah, but realistically, Jeff didn't have any heads up competition in the class.

Now, the real story is Savannah Rickli. 16 years old, youngest driver to ever complete the Pike's Peak Hill Climb, finished third in the same class as Jeff, broke the 14 minute barrier, and won rookie of the year at PPIHC.

Daughter of a local autoxer, an autoxer herself, and is aspiring to be a pro race car driver. She will do well...

You might want to read this. An interview with Jeff Zwart. Good reading, and short, for you young guys with restricted attention spans .......................

The tarmac section looks like all out and a blast. The dirt portion looks all out and scary as hell. I wanna try it. aktion035.gif

IIRC the Mear's car was buggy powered by a -6. Not a 914 body'd car.

That's nuts. Those dirt roads are crazy on the edge. Has anybody gone off them?

Wish I could learn to drive somewhat decently on a dirt road. Not real interested in wrecking my car trying to learn though. Already did that once in Colorado.

This is one helluva fun video to watch. Thanks so much for bringing a smile to my face after a long day at work!

No competition? Cutting 38 seconds off the Time Attack class record has to count for something .......................
