'nuther. This time in 1:18 scale. I took apart one of those Revell cars from a few years back and painted it to match my 1:1 scale version

Where did you get those lids? Those are sweet
I think I will be buying me some of those if I know where you got them
(and I have my next 914
)
I miss my car
But I love the thought of what I will be building next.
Here's another pic of the old girl

Jon,
The lids are from Getty Design (http://www.gettydesign.com/)
Usually they come in white gelcoat but the non-gelcoated (clear) option is available by special order; same price IIRC. They are spendy either way but Getty's stuff is top-notch and FITS without a ton of dicking around, unlike some other f/g vendors' parts.
Posted by: campbellcj Jul 29 2010, 11:09 AM
BTW Getty makes conventional lids as well as these GT-style ones with the super thin glass and balsa reinforcements.
Posted by: Phoenix 914-6GT Jul 29 2010, 11:13 AM
Okay, I knew Getty was the place but this certainly confirms it. When the time is right I am getting them there
Thanks. My GP 914 will be thanking you.

I can't wait to see what you do to your next 914 Jon!
What color are you wanting?
Posted by: type47 Jul 29 2010, 11:34 AM
Looks like I have to correct what I thought was my color. Not Bahia but Phoenix.

Dunno yet... something wild I think but maybe green. I love green 914s almost as much as orange.

i know i am not supposed to say this, but those flared guards are better than porsches effort.
touch of the 718 rsk to the rear guard?
you can't get better than that in my book.

was a color down here ford used, early 70s, exclusively at first on HO falcons. Brambles Red. you could get it later special order for XA falcons when HOs were suddenly NLA post super car scare. said to be red used by the trucking company Brambles. i remember the trucks as a kid.
i parked up my 914 once beside a falcon, BR so close to PR i couldn't tell the difference,
probably explains why i bought the 914 i did.

...And one from the Porsche factory museum. I'm not sure if it's actually Pheonix red, but it sure looks it.
