Just a heads up, i'll try (again) to move the site to a new server this weekend, probably Sunday.

You may recall my last attempt that ended in disaster due to a misconfiguration of my ISPs firewall.

Supposedly, all is good now. Wish me (us) luck ...

I hope it goes better than my new water heater. I missunderstood the specs and it was 28 1/4 instead of 24 1/4 and the closet was 27 1/2. A week later the closet got new matching tile, a raised platform for a pan with a drain and thinner interior walls all re textured. Good thing I like to redo stuff. The damn cold showers were a pain though.

The last time this happened my wife and kids were away visiting her mom/dad and I was without World the whole time . Coincidentally, they are on their way again to visit the grandparents...please not again

The good news is, the new server should be a lot faster!!!

Much better hardware plus a bunch of the big hard-drives that were donated by members and a larger pipe to the internet.


I've been uploading large files all night at 500+ kb/s ...

The ISP wants to switch my servers to a new IP range, so we'll be working out the logistics on that and then do the move when we change all my servers and domains ...

Andy was known as "The Chameleon" back when he worked for interpol. Here is rare picture of him with the original 914world server.... he switched from Coca-Cola to the hard stuff shortly after this was taken.
