A customer just came back into the store and said she had locked her keys in the car. I said let me take a look. nice looking 200o somthing ford focus. But it still had manual locks, the kind near the handle halfway down the door. It was a rocker style switch, it just needed to be pushed from the inside.
hmmmmm
I went back inside and grabbed two flat screwdrivers and the pole used to pull down the security gates. I told her i might mess the paint a little around the top of the door. She said no problem. I gently pried the top of the door back with both drivers a little at a time untill i could slide the pole inbetween. I bent the pole as i slid it in untill it was level with the lock. The poll already had a hook on the end to grab the gates so all i had to do then was twist it.
Door opend right up
annnnd i didnt even mess up the paint.
all in less than 5 min.
Yes i am very pround right now
I saw a video once where fake theifs used some pump up bags to push the door open. Slid the bag in between the door and the b pillar and pump..
Crazy!
Nice!
AAA drivers use a plastic wedge that they drive between the door and door frame.
I don't lock my cars, I just carry plenty of insurance.
I can get in my Ford truck in about 10 seconds! Damn wing windows!!
I would have used a brick.
On the older Escorts you could pull the handle out, slip a coat hanger thru the hole on the rear most opening (there were two) and a few seconds to fish it in place, pull and your in.
I see a career change in your furture .
Low cost cars on order!!!

Nice job.
The person who stole my daughter's purse just broke the back door window.
I locked the key in my 914 last year. Had a piece of metal with me so pulled the window out a bit, then slid the metal over to the window crank and kept tapping the crank until the window was down enough to reach in and unlock the door.
I had to break into my wifes 1999 Chevy Blazer one night in town when she locked us out of it with our daughter, who was about 6 months old I think.
I unscrewed her antenna from the front of the blazer, pried the door a bit and slid it through the door frame. Bent the antenna to reach the power locks, hit the button and poof...back in business.
Afterward she said "How do you know how to do this"?
It's hard to think of a good reason to have this particular set of skills, so I just told her I was the product of a misspent youth. =)
I would have told her it wasn't worth getting in to and told her to have some pride... If she insisted, I would use Elyut's brick method.
Still, nice your skills from your misspent youth finally came in handy
Locked ourselves out on a trip Sunday in the Westy on the ferry boat...Oh No I heard from Monique...now what? One swift hit with my hand and the wing vent was open and I popped open the door..
That's how you do it, honey. Bent the locking arm backe its all good.
elapsed time 5 secs...
