While looking online for a turn signal switch, I came across a spreadsheet that had a list of parts that were interchangeable between VW and Porshe for parts that may not be available from Porsche but are available from VW and may be cheaper/easier to acquire. I thought I would share and maybe we could build on the list. I did a search and did not see this anywhere else but my search skills are pretty weak.
I had to copy the link because I could not figure out how to insert an Excel Spreadsheet.

Link doesn't work for me.
If the part# starts with 111,113,141,211,311,411 it's all VW parts.
Whenever I'm in the market for parts, I try to shop the VW vendors as there are many parts carried over to our VW 914 . I think in addition to the numbers identified above as being VW, part numbers starting with 021.xxx, 022.xxx and maybe even 039.xxx are VW, at least I see alot of 021 and 022 parts on my Vanagon. Maybe 039 are 2L parts (like the Porsche 2L heads, cylinders, ...). Lots of seals and grommets can be found in VW parts.
It did work but it's not a link, it's a download and I didn't see it at first.
I forgot 022 and 021. 039 is a 914 only number and although the cylinders are the same the pistons were 914 only
I also forgot 151, 047, 321, 071 again all VW numbers
901,911 and 914 are porsche numbers
You also find many VW numbers on early 911's
