914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 5-Lug conversion question

Posted by: 00SEVEN Nov 7 2010, 10:24 AM

Started collecting parts for 5-lug conversion, picked up a set of Boge front struts from a 1969 911 part#s 911.341.044.01 & 911.341.043.01. My question is what year wheel hubs do I need to purchase to go with these struts?

That's a very early strut. Here's how I'd do a search regardless of whether one of us knows the answer.

If you don't have the Porsche Parts database (PET) then go to the Porsche site and look up the hub part number for the strut you have.

http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/classic/genuineparts/originalpartscatalogue/

Chose the 911's catalog of a later model like the SC (1979 will be fine) and check if the part number is the same fro that hub. They'll l But look at in-between years if it's different. SC hubs might be easier to find.

Happy hunting!

Early T hub will fit for sure.

you also can use 914 insets in them , Bill's , Koni's , Boges . As long as they are for the 914 strut body ( should be same size as early 911 ) you have a selection to chose from . aktion035.gif Good luck ....

I know the struts are 3" caliper spacing, would like to stick with the M-caliper. What I'm not sure on is the spacing for mounting the rotor on the back side of the hub, are the same for all years ? Did the outside (wheel side) spacing change for different years? where can I find these measurements?. Don't want to by a set of used hubs if they won't fit my aplication.
Here's the part #'s broken down for year models for hubs I've gatherd so far.
1969-1973=901.341.065.04
1974-1983=911.341.065.06
1978-1983=930.341.065.00
1984-1989=930.341.065.01

If you place a WTB on Pelican and state what you have, you will get plenty of offers from guys who took the correct parts off their car to upgrade or just have extras. Sould be able to get a good pair ~ $75

Get a hold of Eric Shea @ PMB. I just got a set of Hubs from him. You know when you get something from him, it's ready to be put on the car. He can get restored hubs with bearings, different length studs so they are ready for spacers etc
