Finally got around to looking at my new AA catalog CD. It started running playing Christan music. Its just a music cd. Is George trying to convert us? Anyone else found this?

Since he thinks that he is God, I dought it, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was subliminal messages in the music..

Buy from AA, tell everyone how great I am, ect...

Actually I like the idea of George being Santa, although I actually prefer him to be Eliahu the prophet smile.gif

Don't laugh, I ordered mine, never got it, started a thread asking if any one else did, and george answered saying his records said I wasn't a 914 owner so I had to buy one confused24.gif I didn't..

Byron we did not have you one the list as owning a 914 that is why you missed the mailout!!!! Sorry. We paid R.L. Polk to merge purge our list to make sure that all of the addresses were correct as not to waste ONE catalog, and they did a good job! Only 36 catalogs came back.

Please keep in mind that there is a nice 30 minute video tour of the place hosted by me and talking about the 914s in the display area, on the catalog cd. Fun to watch and get a laugh or two. Probably the most interesting part is some of the rust repairs we do here!

Well George, instead of promoting a video and your collection, I, personally, would have answered the problem of a music cd and a non-receipt of a catalog/cd.

Oh well, I guess that's the difference. Not bashing ... just reminding

Posted by: dr914@autoatlanta.com Dec 9 2010, 12:48 PM

Good point, Slits, but I am always optimistic, and hate all of the negativity.
I would like to see the cd and test it myself. NO ONE has ever said anything about the cd being anything but a wonderful tool and since we have them mass produced, they would naturally all be the same.
I think the appropriate thing to do would be to return it and exchange it for a good one along with a free printed catalog. As far as the guy who SAID that we would not send him a catalog cd because he was not a Porsche owner, and spoke with me personally, that too is not worth addressing because I am here to encourage the hobby and get new owners or potential owners involved NOT discourage them!!!!!!!!!!! Just watching the 30 minute video should inspire anyone to purchase and restore a 914! Slits, have you seen the video yourself? What did you think of it?

The guy who said that he paid for the catalog and never received it? Why did he just not call back and say so and we would have GLADLY sent him another! Why would we be so crazy to deny ourselves potential business?
As a side note, if we could still get the R.L. Polk list of registration compilations in the 50 states, we would, in spite of the internet, design plan, produce and mass mail another 914 catalog, and it would be bigger and better than ever. Too bad the privacy act excluded companies from ever again purchasing legitimate mailing lists. SOME people would welcome such mail!!!

Why is this an issue?
Why does the AA bashing continue without moderation?

This particular thread is completely unnessecary & does no good.

Quite frankly, and I'm setting myself out here for slamming, in the 25+ years of dealing with AA I've never had a complaint.

Christian music (if that's what's there - I don't have the latest version)? Get over it!

Let's discuss something of importance to 914's.

Where is the Moderator? I would have killed this thread 2 days ago.

Talk 914's. Leave the pseudo-political crap out of the conversation.

Sick of it! Totally uncalled for.

Sorry Pat, the fact that you have never been screwed by AA the way many others here have, and some more than once, nagates your vote. AA didn't just happen to get the reputation they have, they earned it. As for Christian music on CD, I would agree, no big deal, it is a freebie and if AA chooses to use the CD that they PAID for, and GAVE AWAY FREE, to promote their Faith, to some who ASKED, hey, no problem..

I guarantee you that every customers order will be right and they will be completely happy( with exception of the 2 or 3 that would bitch about old paint even if you GAVE them the 916, you all know the type)and vow to solve any and all problems that arise. I will make your AA shopping experience so pleasant that you will WANT your old parts to break just so you can shop with me. If I do all that, in return you guys all have to promise to buy LOTS of parts in order to justify my new salary and make him glad he is shelling out the big bucks to me. I will have you ALL as customers within 2 to 3 years, even Eric. beerchug.gif

George, I have not seen the video, nor do I have your CD.

I do have factory manuals (microfiche & pdf) which I almost consider useless, Bosch ESI and a library of other books to tell me what I need to know.

The whole point of the post was to address the problems, get them solved and not bash. It's to bad that others can't give it up and continue the shit.

All I see is a CD / DVD that got mislabeled and an order that got lost ... the rest of it doesn't count for crap. To many years; to many threads.

The whole flavor of this website and others have changed ... it just seems that all the fun has been sucked out of it.

or

maybe I just got old and tired.

Good luck .... have a good day.

Well Dave is right on the money. Just got the automobile atlanta labeled and (if I do say so myself) nicely packaged catalog cd back, popped it into my Mac, and low and behold the Christians singing.... and not a very good attempt either. I had my choice of at least 12 different songs. Then when I looked for the eject button I could not find it and was quickly on my way to be converted!!!!!! Maybe someone is trying to tell me something?????

Anyway, the cd duplicating place that ran these 4000 discs for us must have been doing a job for one of the local Christian churches and one of the discs got mixed in with ours.
Please no disrespect to you Christians (I was raised Catholic)

Hi George,

Is there any chance I can get one of your catalogs (preferably on paper)? I did pay for it about 2 years ago or so when you released the new ones and still have never recieved it. Also in my last order a good year and a half ago I also mentioned this to the nice lady who took my order but again never recieved the printed catalog and she did mention she would try to send me one on a CD but its never shown up. I know you are very busy and probably have these requests all the time, but I do remember paying for it quite some time back, now have totally forgotten about it until I read this post and was hoping you could send me out my copy please. Thank you

Well George, got my CD. It didn't play any music, but the video was nice. Since you had trouble getting thru the access door, I was wondering how you were able to cut the cars up, move them thru the door and then reweld them together to look pristine in such a small space. Hell of a job.
