Nice score! ..... and ......
BTW - re. your console gauges, once you get the mounting board out, those gauges are sitting in a rubber retainer ring that allows you to carefully slide them out, then reverse their positions - after unhooking the elec. leads (keep track of which goes where). Not hard at all. PO may have wanted to see the voltmeter more than the clock, or just didn't know.

I got a 73 one week ago today. I think your's is a little further along than mine, though. BTW, where are the jackstands?
Posted by: PanelBilly Jan 24 2011, 09:55 AM
Did the PO give you the jackstands that go with the car?
Looks nice, have fun
Posted by: skota Jan 24 2011, 09:58 AM
great looking car!
Posted by: sawtooth Jan 24 2011, 11:36 AM
Very sharp '73. What's on the top rack?
Posted by: NJ914Guy Jan 24 2011, 02:36 PM
Thanks for all of the kind words guys, and yes, I plan to get involved with the NJ 914 group. I will not need the jack stands as I have a 4-post lift in the garage
On the top rack is a 2001 C5 Corvette. It's got a forged engine with a custom Supercharged and intercooled Procharger system. 700HP at the flywheel and about 575HP at the rear wheels. Missing from the shots are my 1964 Corvette Roadster, new 2010 Camaro SS and you saw the 2008 911 in the shots with the 914. Yes, the 914 shares some nice company in the Garagemahal!!!

What do you do for a living to snag all those? I think I need to go back to school.
Posted by: NJ914Guy Jan 24 2011, 05:01 PM
Yep, sharp turns going to the market to pickup bread and milk. Actually, I have always wanted a 914 since my dad had his 1974 1.8. Regarding work, I own a technology consulting firm, we install and support computer systems for law firms and corporate legal departments.

Great looking car. Nice collection also. You are a true enthusiast.
Aren't Uhauls great to go out a snag cool cars!!! $60 a day...can't beat it.
Welcome to the World,
David
Posted by: NJ914Guy Jan 25 2011, 02:39 PM
Yep, and the 914 fits perfectly on the U-Haul Auto Transport trailer. Best $60 bucks ever!
Posted by: Cupomeat Jan 25 2011, 02:50 PM
Great looking car, if I may ask, what did you pay for it?
Posted by: mepstein Jan 25 2011, 02:55 PM
But the uhaul computers tell the shop owners that the 914's doesn't fit. I had to show them a picture of a 914 on a uhaul to prove to one guy that the combo was good. They do hang up at the top of the ramp with low pro tires but some 1x10 planks fix that.
There used to be lots of 914's around south Jersey. I saw my first one parked in front of my neighbors and was sold.

Heck of alot of 914s in NJ now. Begining to think we are second only to CA now.
