914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Oil Pressure sender.. does in need an 0-ring?

Posted by: tod914 Feb 8 2011, 03:10 PM

Going to replace my OP sender (the one on top by the distrib.). I couldn't find an 0-ring listed in the PDF. Does it take one or does it just go on without one?

Thanks, Tod

No sealing ring or O ring, it has tapered threads. Don't over tighten it.

Thankyou sir.. I'll check the torque sets on it before I install it.

Hey Tod
No seal, it's pipe thread. Just snug it up.

FWIW, I usually put a thin smear of Permatex aircraft sealant on it.

Be sure you get the correct switch, as many of the modern switches use a copper gasket.

I ordered the Porsche one Cap'n, from PP. I check it prior to install. Thanks for the tip.
