74 2.0 914 w/ Factory front Sway Bar. Is there a Torque Value for the Front Drop Links? If not how tight should the Drop links be Mounted?
Yes, there's a value. Fairly certain it would be 18ftlbs. but... 24.5 comes to mind as well.
Sorry... that's more of a mystery than an answer. I don't have the factory manuals in front of me right now.
Just looked through the Front Axle (Grp 4) factory manual and didn't see anything about a torque spec.
Güten Tite should do it.
Did you check the last page? I know there's specs because I just went through this with my front end. 24.5 is the standard for an M8 but they use 18 as well in some instances.
From the good book...
"Hex bolts for stabilizer arm - 2.5mkp (18lb/ft)
Thanks for the extra effort.. I have never seen the value previously// it is never mentioned evne on how to postings.. Yeah! Eric!
Hmmm..... still can't find it.
I believe they have a metal sleeve to keep from over-compressing the rubber ...... if that is the case, I would go with a 'standard' torque for that size bolt in a 'structural' position ....... and ..... put a locking nut on it too .
Mark, last page before supplements but, it's the 911 Factory manuals.
Thats the spec I would go with...
Same for the three bolts in the body.
