Ok I'm going to do it . I am going to install a front oil cooler in my 73 2.0 4 autocross/DE car it has an HD oil pump. I ran a search and am thinking of going with the mocal sandwich plate with the thermostat in it and a RX 7 cooler with an 10 lines ran down the rocker panel. please your coments and thought on the subject.
Sounds like a good plan... jives with with conventional wisdom.
Be sure to take lots of pictures!

The only problem with the RX7 oil coolers is that the inlet and outlets are small... also I believe there is a internal thermostat in the cooler as well.
for not to much extra money you could get a mocal cooler with -12 fittings
I was going with the rx-7 cooler, I have one if you want to by it, I am going with a Fluidyne after talking to Brad, Fluidynes web site will list places all over the US. Here are a few numbers that were give to me DB-30617, 30616,30416. why the change,by the time you set up, clean the rx cooler, the Fluidyne cooler would be a way to go.
Tony if you decide to go with the fluidyne cooler call dennis @
ovalspeed. His shop is in Massapequa, phone # usually is in the Metro Post
Tim
Which cooler do you have? were do you have it? I have been to oval speed before when I buy the parts I plan on using him. keep the money local!
Would you explain, please, where the oil fittings take off the engine.
What is an expected price range for a cooler set-up?
One method is my mount:

There is also the sandwich adaptor that goes between the filter and filter housing.
With stainless lines expect $500+ for the whole set-up.
Tony, on my 914 I have a mocal cooler in the front trunk, with a hole cut in the front bulkhead for air to come in, and a hole in the floor to exhaust the air..
The fluidyne is on my 911
