Today I tackled one of the most painful projects to date - tearing out the metal shelf for the front trunk spare cover. It was in the way of where my RX-7 cooler needs to mount so out it came.
It was painful because I could not cut the spot weld below the headlight assembly, so I basicall used an air chisel to rip the metal out.
Here is the shelf with the spot weld cut:

Now it is on to designing and fabricating the cooler mounts....
Is this on a type 4? I am curious if it is not too long of a distance for a stock oil pump with a 'sandwich' adapter.
No, I've got a 3.0 from a '79 SC that is going to be installed, along with the stock 914-6 oil tank, RX-7 cooler and a Mocal thermostat.
