For those that now the trials and tribulations of my son Hunter, May 1st is a big day for him. He turns 4 years old.

After he was born, he was given 72 hours to live and he proved the doctors wrong.

When he was sent home after 10 weeks in the hospital, they said he would live to about three years old and he has proved them wrong....

Last October we nearly lost him due to complications of a feeding tube replacement. They gave him less than 24 hours to live after the surgery and he proved them wrong.

Tomorrow, May 1st, at 10:21 pm, he will be 4! Hunter has defied the odds again.

It will be a bittersweet day. Celebrating this incredible milestone with friends and family, but also realizing that his difficult life began on this day 4 years ago. I am both sad and happy at the same time.

Thanks for all of you guys (and gals) out there that have shown compassion over the years. I really appreciate the support when I needed it.

Happy birthday wishes to Hunter, and wishes of many more to come. And congratulations to mom and dad. You guys are doing a great job. He's very lucky to be surrounded by so many people that love him very much.

As a father of two (3 year old and 4 month old) I'm struggling for words. Every child is a blessing put here for a reason - this coming from a heathen like me. You are lucky to have him, and it sounds like he is lucky to have tht two of you. Funny how things like jobs and cars become unimportant with these guys tugging at you. I just try to enjoy every moment.
