914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Classifieds Etiquette

Posted by: Lawrence May 1 2004, 10:45 PM

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A few tips about Classifieds etiquette:

1. If you list something, be reasonably sure you WANT to sell it.
2. If you list something for sale - answer your freaking email!!!
3. If you accept someone's offer, and get a better one, you're honor bound to stick with the original agreement.
4. If you get a better offer than one you've accepted, you're an ASSHOLE if you say "Uhhh, I changed my mind and I want to keep it."
5. Please ship promptly and/or pay promptly.
6. If you do sell the item/items (congrats!) then please delete your ad or edit it to say the item is no longer available.
7. If someone takes the time to respond to your ad before you get a chance to take it off the market, have the courtesy to respond stating the item is sold.

Have a 914 day!

Gee, that sounds reasonable, almost like common sense. Too bad it is not enforceable.

Sorry, I can't bring myself to do that. Admin authority shouldn't be used for personal gain.

Oh well... at least I'm not out any money.

sorry man.

one would think that people would do this.

I had a girl on the vortex agree to sell me a set of wheels for 400.00 shipped. She accepted the offer and agreed to take paypal, was only waiting to get her E-Mail address used for Paypal Purposes.

No word for over a week until somebody else posted they got the wheels. Its pretty obvious that the other person was alot closer, so so they either picked them up or the seller was out lots less shipping. She till this day has never even had the common courtesy to even let me know she sold them.

People suck, it is a fact................

Okay this it for me LOCATION,LOCATION,LOCATION. Think about this, you put an ad in the classifieds. You have all this great stuff about the best 914 part that you are selling.
Do you think that someone might want to have a clue as to where that great item is located?? YA they do want to know.
You don't have to put in your address, just a city or state.
And they say a picture is worth a thousand words. YA, they are right. If you have that great 914 part and you really want people to know what it looks like submit a picture. If you don't know how, ask, there are a few perople here that will help you.

more specifics as well. example, a link to an ebay ad for engine tin. for WHAT application? 1.7, 1.8, 2.0? i also hate the email game for a price when a part is listed, with no idea what the seller wants to see for the items. on the location, a zip code makes the shipping costs so easy to determine.

How do you edit or remove an ad? I just recieved the second of two mirrors last week and would like to remove my ad. I went to it this week but couldn't figure out how to remove it. I just left it because it expires in two weeks but if I could.........I would.
Anyone?
