I just read that Elvin Jones one off the best drummers ever has passed, as a drummer I mourn his passing as he truely was one of the all time best.

I feel very lucky that I got to see Elvin play here at our local Jazz club a few times. The greats of that era are almost all gone.

My 15 year old is a drummer and I bet he knows of Elvin. I'll be sure to tell him.
