It was a pretty decent show. I went down there for swap meet. Met a few club members. Had a good time and got alot of sun. Made more conversation then money.

WOW!!!! That Effingham Show sure looks like a nice event. Some really fine looking 914's too. Check out the picture of the orange, big bumper 914 with the Boxster beside it. The look and style of that 914 blows the Boxster away.
Brian,
did you notice that the keys to the 959 and the carrera gt were sitting in the cars?
Damn, I wanted to start 'em up and go
I dont know if its my rabid enthusiasm for 914's but the GT and the 914 have a very similar profile from the side.
Great pics Brian. Did you happen to see the 76 Signal Orange car? My wife and I spoke to the owner. He is the second owner, bought the car when it was 6 months old from original owner. Beautiful example of a 914.
Did any club members take part in the Road Tour? Can't imagine what a couple of hundred Porsches would look like in a continuous line driving along the back roads of Effingham.
This would make a great club event next year. What do you think?
That first photo looks like its Aubergine (eggplant) color. Very nice, nicest one I've seen yet.
Thats one thing I missed is talking to all the owners. I was at the swap meet untill about 2. When I went to look at cars everyone was off doing their own thing. Also took some pics of some 911's that looked nice.

Indydad took some pictures of the swap and maybe some other pics. Hopefully he can post his too.
The teener pictures I took were the ones you posted, nothing new. Wish I could have stayed longer, had to get to my grand daughter's dance rectial at 2:00. Myabe next year we could organise the club to meet there. Name tags with screen names would help.
Old Dad
Indydad no pictures of the swap meet???
Sorry, no pics of the swap meet area.......didn't think to. I felt real guilty buying a fiberglass rear bumber that I REALLY didn't need to get mine running ( I caught h... from the wife trying to convince her I had to have the thing!) nag, nag, nag
mean old dad
P.S. Do you think next year they will put the swap meet area further out in that corn field to the east? Sheeeeesh
I bet they would.
Nice pics guys!
You Midwest owners sure know how to show your 914's - They look great!
Enjoy!
Seanery, they had all of us put the cars in neutral with the e-brake on and leave the keys in the passenger seat so they could move them if they needed to(or take them out for a midnight run!).I didn't worry though, because i'm sure they would have taken all the others out before mine!
which car was your shelby?
It was the green 1975 slant nose not owned by Bob Ingram.!
that guy's collection was insane!
Brian,
I have pics from the swap meet. will post tomorrow when I can.
Sean...I can't believe I missed you.....I was with Shelby and also roaming with my son. We got pics of all the 914's except the darker yellow one...purchased a internal long kit from Mark...
to all reading this post...engman's internal long repair kit is HOT...son and I placed it into his project 914 on sunday morning...it just slipped right in...no cutting...perfect fit....TIA mark....
we should all get together next year at Mid America...and all park/party together...it would be very very cool...
we'll be racing next year!

Did anyone here buy the two sideshift transmissions?
I went back to get the $75 one and they were both gone.
Sean,
I watched Brad Mayeur go through that stuff like a madman...I believe he purchased all the tranny's and a whole bunch of stuff from Mike? from Chattanoga.
Did you see the 3.0 motor in the back of the Suburban?...he wanted 2K for the motor...at the end of the day Mike's wife offered everything "still on the ground" for $10.00...motor excluded....motor went back to TN....still for sale.
When Doug & I left I offered her a grand for the motor.
I swear Brad bought half of that guys stuff. He kept on walking by with more stuff each time. Did he sell the clear targa top he was asking $1500 for.
I didn't see it at the end of the day...I don't think it sold....
the one in the museum?
Nope - try again - hint a pic was posted!
M
Is the other one the yellow one with the small block chevy in it?
Mark,
was it John Bacon's one on the trailer...at the swap meet? if so there is a pic of it in the background of pic labeled swap 7.
Yep - give the man a prize Sean! Have you got it yet?
M
nope, I'm totally lost
