914World.com _ 914World Garage _ engine components in Solidworks

Posted by: theo Jun 3 2011, 04:45 PM

I am taking a solidworks class in school, I was playing with the software this afternoon and drew up some engine components for practice. thought I would share some of what I was working on. some stuff is way off, but I only had a cylinder and a ruler so I used Google images to guess on the rest of the dimensions and stuff haha.

Good looking model. However, that engine may vibrate a bit with the modified crank throws. poke.gif

That's cool. If you want components to model, I'd be happy to mail some out. wink.gif

Wow. yeah I can’t believe I did that.
no I have never heard of it I will have to look it up.

yeah you are right about the vibration, I was trying to get an idea what the dimensions were from a picture, when I had it together it looked way off. But that’s what’s cool about solidworks, it’s easy to make a fix if u mess up. haha smash.gif
