I lost a very good friend and the World lost a HUGE 914 enthusiast.
I want to thank all the members from here who helped his last days enjoyable with your notes & pictures, it really meant a lot to him.. So, those of you who drink, a bit after 9, pour yourself a Scotch, neat and toast our 914 Brothers who have left us..

The fact that Byron was friends with Phil makes him tolerable

If it's ok, may I ask who this is?
No Scotch here, but I'll see what I have.

You might say he is to blame for really lighting the 914 fire under me, I was already a Porsche guy, had a nice, newer one and Phil (whom I had only met once before) pulls into my drive way while I was playing with one of my cars & asked me..

You want to drive a FAST Porsche??
He was driving his black 74 2.0 with a custom RPM built 2.1 Twin Plug 180 HP engine, lowered, 195/50/15 Yoko 008s (those were the tire at that time) and it was fast.. We going driving down the road & he was telling me how it seems every MR2 wants to race him, and sure enough, a few minutes later, at a stop light, a teal MR2 pulls next to us, reving the engine.. Phil looks at me and says

Don't Let My Car Loose
Well, the light changed I dumped the clutch & we smoked that MR2... We really did have some great times and I really do miss him..
