914World.com _ 914World Garage _ pics from my new barn find ...

Posted by: Gustl Jun 19 2011, 03:36 AM

Recently I bought a 914 barn find scale model. It's based on the well known yellow Revell 1/18. Yesterday I received the parcel - and what can I say: I like it biggrin.gif

beerchug.gif very cool , better to have the model than th real thing.
last pic it was 2 years old.

BTW under the blue tarp (seen in 2nd pic) is a 1952 MGTD, it ran 30 years ago.

Cool !! Kind of reminds me of how my car was like 4 years ago until I shipped it here to me in Japan and started work on it.

Amazingly (and atypically) all the tires are round... A bit of time with a hot plate or emery board (depending on material) should take some 'round' off the bottom...

But it doesn't look like any longitudinal sag, so - good find !

I've got a 1/18 diorama 'in work' now but it's not ready for show yet.
Soon...

Looks frighteningly authentic, but,. . .

Where's the jack-stands??

Seriously, that is one cool model! Nice job!!

Agreed.

Needs at least 1 jackstand.

Paint 2 of the wheel studs on a rear wheel black - ie, missing/cross-threaded, etc. Then jack that side.

Also add some grayish shredded paper lumps to the right of the fuel tank.

That's where my little "MICE" had made their bed after chewing through enough heater and air venting tubes!

WTF.gif

I've thought about that.
I don't think so.

Milk crate or cinder blocks, yes...

Looks like the one stored in my barn. Guess I should run out and snap a pix.
