thanks for posting that Bruce, now I know I don't have the most messy garage of the bunch
Messy?...that's tidy now....after my mom passed away, I had the pleasure of cleaning out my parents house. 50 yrs of living in the same place they collected a lot of stuff. Took 15 truck and trailer loads up to the farm. The stuff that I would use at home (tools, ect) went into the garage.
I can finally get working again on the 68 Impalla convert that you can just make out from the door.......
The plan is to make enough room to put one of the 914's in there for the winter.....
Here is one side..

I envy you!
Nice!!!!
I went out a took a pic in the dark after I was sure I was safe from the "Biggest Mess" shop award. I curently have 3500 sq ft of shit in my 3200 ft shop after we moved my mother in-law into the addition we built for her. The glowing eyed beast is "Rocky, Doberman Protector of all Things Very Old and German" (18 month old pup. He had that name registered with the AKC when we bought him. Waddaya gonnado?)
BTW, I feel very small and inadequate after SKL's post. Anybody know where to get a script for Viagra?
Wait, I've been to Iowa many times. There is NO PLACE in Iowa that cool. NO PLACE!!!!!!!
Attached image(s)
3200sq foot garage?????? damn, that is bigger than my entire house
skl has got to have one of the nicest garages I've seen
I didn't want to view Craigs, I already knew I've be envious, LOL
SKL's silver 914 looks familiar. I wonder if he drives for a living. Hard decision to make.. humm GT3 or 914 today ?? LOL NICE !!

Benno
Hallo Benno,

If anyone would be interested in Race Deck snap in flooring for their garage, I would be happy to work with you. I will offer special pricing for all club members. I am a member of 914world.com, and will work closely with anyone interested. It is a great product for your garage, and very easy to install as it snaps together. Check out the web site.

Jenny,
that is a Pabst sign, but not from my college days. I think it was in my dad's basement at the old house. The Bud Light, however, was from my college days. There is also a mexican Coors sign, but it needs a tube repaired.
Pman, Thanks for the offer. How do you price the racedeck, per square or ??? Are you a dealer/distributor?
Thanks
CCLINALLHANDSONRACEDECK
Jesus Christ guys - can't you read?!? it said 'garage' not 'showroom full of sorted pimped expensive classics'
sheesh!
ps - this is directed to you guys with the garages like i want - not pman's product offer (which i also want)
The retail price for Race Deck is $3.50/sq. ft. IIRC.
Is it wrong that I want to have sex with SKL's garage, and every car in it? I'm all hot and bothered just thinking about it!
why confine yourself with societal norms?
Not many large garages in California.
Could you say PROPERTY VALUE?
Sometimes I wonder if its worth it.
Currently building 3 car garage and a house to go with it.

I have the race deck in my garage and laundry room.
There is a drawback with the product, heat. Dont plan on warming up or running your engine for any period of time, as the stuff will expand and bubble up.
Even when I leave the garage door open and the leading edge gets exposed to the sun it warps up.
I have seen it come up to within inches of the bottom of the engine while doing a tune up.
It does return to it's original state when it cools down.
you guys make me sick... I can't open both doors on my teener at the same time... they both hit the wall...
better than the gravel ground at my old apt. though
Out of the garage,,,, Just to prove it happens.

Qarl,
Looks great. Almost too nice for a garage!
Where does your tile flooring end relative to the garage door? Do the pavers extend into the garage? Or does the door come down at the junction? Just curious how this is handled.
Also, with tile systems like this and in the previous photos what happens with spills. Does liquid seep between the tiles?
Thanks.
I took this before my wife had to take the 959 to go get some milk.

How's Hunter? We haven't seen any pics lately. Got any?
Kellzey- do you have an Elise yet?? My kids think I should get one someday- saw a couple when in England a couple years and they were a big hit with our family. Definitely a new 914, except made on the wrong side of the channel!
Seanery - Here is a picture from about 5 minutes ago. (Sorry, I'm not allowed to take him in the garage!)
Hunter is fine. Overall no major medical issues. Status quo. No improvements on anything (but we really aren't expecting any). He is growing and just had his 4-year-old checkup with his pediatrician. He seems to like the new house. We also have a new baby in the house (a 10-week-old kitten).
As far as the Elise, the first cars (Dealer demos) just arrived last Friday in Georgia at Lotus American headquarters. They are being dispersed right now. Next month... 3 to 5 cars per dealer. There are some delays at the factory. I am #23 at my dealership and expect the car now about December/January.
Oh... and I might actually have a yellow painted 914 in the above photograhed garage this coming weekend or early next week.

Your garage looks like a doctors office, Very nice. Pinball machine in the garage is
always a great option. So is a yellow 914. The place looks naked without one.

I definitely need to add a mini-fridge to the garage!
It's been had as a mother-f3%cker lately! And humid too!
I built my own shop, mostly by myself, around 2000sq/ft, always full of customers cars and engines.
I will soon be breaking ground on a 22' X 22' attached garage, on our house, just so we we have a place to park our own cars.

The 55 is nice and so is the 454 67 el camino next to it (you can just see the tail)... yeah, I am the odd ball of the group with all my german cars. I guess I will have to stuff a v8 into my parts car just to keep up

So here is a working garage.

I figured I should go ahead and post a pic of my garage, since I put so much work into remodeling it (when I moved in there was nothing but bare studs and wall to wall spiders).

Hehe, I JUST got all the paint off that one. took two days of paint remover and scrubbing.. only 3 more to go! (and then I start polishing)

As you can tell, my garage was set-up on a tight budget. Used (free) file cabinets, storage for tools, parts, supplies. All the chemicals are kept in the stainless steel cabinet (old hospital OR warming cabinet). I "added" a temporary second garage on a budget, where the 914 now sits.

Below is a picture of the garage of fellow 914club member "jojogto" We call his garage "The Garage Mahal". It has a tile floor, air conditioning, restroom, television, refrigerator and a new love seat. Some beautiful cars too. Don't count! That's not a garage, that's a museum!
My garage consists of two cars and a pissed off wife because there is no room left for the kids bikes.
Check out my Avatar.
The garage has actually been up for about a month and a half. Finishing the wiring this weekend. The siding on the house is being finished today and I've got to paint both before the snow flies. About all I'm storing in there now besides tools is my bike.

Mine's and F'n mess !
Garages rock!.. much better than parking on the driveway.
Rainy night last night, young Volvo driver was going too fast around the corner, went off
the street and hit our New Beetle and pushed it into the RX-7, then had a bigger brain
lapse and took off. The cops are looking for him. I hope they find him before my wife
does. Anyway, the 914 was in the garage, safe and sound.
I always wanted to by an old fire station. I could just roll out of bed, slid down the pole and be working on my car in a matter of seconds.
Boy the amount of work I'd get done then.
Paul
The recent thread about garage plans made me nostalgic (sp?). Had to go bump this old chestnut. Maybe some of the newbies can add to it!
My 1973 914 2.0 takes garage priority over my 2005 Magnum R/T.

I waited for a couple of years to have a place to store my truck. I used to keep it at an RV place; secure and covered but not protected on the sides (other than by other vehicles) or in the front which translated to a mess for keeping it clean and a security worry. I now have an airplane hanger at a nearby field with lights and locks. I have room in there for the P-cars if I needed to move them too (see avatar photo).
