Just wanted to say that I am very happy with the front trunk shock kit from CAMP914, thanks Craig! 
My springs were shot and would not keep the front trunk lid open all the way. They couldn't be adjusted anymore and I was tired of the lid slowly sliding down when opened. Craigs kits are easy to install, took me on 15 min during lunch today (I work from home)

Yeah, I bought the same kit from him up at the WCC. I got the front and rear kits. Have yet to install them but iI did the rear kit from him on my yellow one and it was great. Joe bought a kit from someone else and the instructions were kind of crappy and the kit did not fit the same. He still doesnt have his in yet. I think he gave up. I will be installing mine in a few days when I get it running. I have priorities on the car. Dont need the trunk to stay open if it doesnt run.

I want to buy his kit for the front and back but in the future I will be replacing the hoods with glass fiber ones. Will these be too stiff? I don't want to pull the hood down and have it crack.

How did you get the springs off, I have heard they can be projectiles if your not careful

Vise grips & A LARGE screw driver. I used the visegrips to pull the spring forward and used the screw driver to lift it over the mounting tab, not easy but it worked. Like I said my springs were shot so it wasn't that hard to pull the tension off a little. The hard part was not to let go of the spring before it was done recoiling, smacked my ring finger, but I will live

I pulled mine this morning, they were not shot and held the hood fine, I used a huge pair of Channel locks and grabbed on to the part of the hook sticking out and used the fender as leverage and pulled it right out, they didnt shoot off into the front of the car like they did when I did the yellow one. Scared the hell out of me. This time they came off with no problem.

Howard has a fiberglass front and rear hood and he uses them on his and it works fine. He may only use one on each though, You would have to ask him.

Garold Thanks very much for the unsolicited endoresment. When you order let me know what you have for a trunk lid, glass, spoiler, luggage rack.
I have different strengh, LBS. shocks.
The front springs when released will stay in place since they are in a very tight slot in the rear.
I am going to be sending out stronger rear shox to those who have spoilers or bondo heavy trunk lids.

I'm still in tear down mode.... hopefully to be in repair and paint mode soon 
I too am going to buy Craigs kits both front and rear. Numero uno because I had to cut the rear torsion just to get it out and B. - because it's just a better way to go.
I am having serious trouble getting my front springs off, even though they wouldn't hold the hood all the way up they still are a bitch. 
Any advise other than pull on 'em like hell

Look in Hayne's manual. They have a picture of using a lever against the strut and a wire back to the spring. I've done it and it works good.
Now I need to order Craig's kit (I love the rears I have from him) and do it again.

I got my front trunk springs off with my hands wearing leather gloves. It was actually pretty easy. If you can get a good enough grip, they come off failry well. Pull the spring towards the front though, so if it slips it won't poke a hole in your stomach.

That is great but I have the stock hoods now and I would hate to have to buy another kit when I switch to glass fiber. Is there anything we could work out? I want front and back.

Craig is gonna wind up with a ton of my money when I finally get back into working on Dad's Car. I don't think there's anything he has available that I don't want for the car.
