Getting ready to refinish an engine bay
How difficult /dangerous to pull torsion bars ....Heard deck lid needs to be removed...If I just unbolt do rods explode......or am I making this bigger deal than it is.
TIA
Terry

I used the trick of cutting a notch in a big adjustable wrench end.

lots of pressure.
Remove the trunk lid.
Use a long deep 10mm socket on a 6 inch extension.
Slip the socket onto the end of the spring, unhook it and ease it back all the way to the end of the pocket.

Then unbolt them both.
