Thanks for the idea! Here are a couple of pix`s of the fit and finish. Only had to turn the viser pins (pointed end into the mirror).Having trouble with the pictures.I will try later if anyone is interested.

What model of BMW mirror did you use?
Was the holes for the pins the only modification you had to do?

It was a mid 80`s .Had a square base with a spring and two pins under the base,had to remove that.(dremel with cutting wheel) Used viser holder as a template and drilled the two mounting holes and counter sunk.Also had to round the corners on the base.Then drilled the holes for the viser pins. painted the aluminium with satin black. Done in about two hours including drying time.
That awesome, I'll have to check into doing something like that.
