I have a 73 that was originally Olympic Blue, but I don't think I'll be repainting it that color. I found out when I took off the carpets and trim. I find it to be an odd color.
I know it won't be original, but I don't care, if I'm going to spend so much time (and money) restoring the darn thing, I want to at least like the color.
Good for you!! If it's your car, why have it be a color you don't like?
I would suggest that, if possible, you get everything (the whole body!) painted the new color. Nothing like opening a door or having a piece of carpet slip and showing off the "wrong" color to irritate you later on...

not too sure what is going on in this picture with the hole in the floor:
"too stupid to figure out how to remove starter"
or
"didn't have a floor jack so I thought I'd tie a string to the transmission"
