914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Where do you live?

Posted by: VegasRacer Jul 28 2004, 06:49 AM

We all know that a large % of the 914World.com members are from California.
How many other states have members here? All 50?

Copy this map. Cut and paste a Porsche Logo crest.gif on you home town and re-post the map.
(If you don't know how to do this, just tell us where you live and the next poster can add your crest.gif for you.)

International members can add their flag in the borders. smilie_flagge6.gif

You're just trying to see how many states are represented, right?

At least 2 in ME and 1 in NH that I know about - mostly from reading the "location" field in their sigs. Several in CT.

Vermont is the only New England state I don't think I've seen someone admit to....

Joe

p.s. Maybe the admins could write a script to tabulate all the know state abbreviations from the "location" field in the profiles?
p.p.s. How many states are we up to now?

Posted by: Aaron Cox Jul 28 2004, 05:51 PM

Is someone more talented than me willing to take on the task of compiling the data and creating a map? type.gif

Trying to see if we have all 50 states represented is a cool trivial fact, but that was not the main goal. I did not intend to leave out the Northern California folks. I had hoped to see the geographical demographics of all the active members. If there are 20 people from one area, there should be 20 crest.gif

Ok guys... WHERE IS IRAQ ?? for LB and his buddy ?? At least the Iragi flag..

Posted by: Pam Jul 31 2004, 09:06 PM

I'm sure the Army has a flag...maybe that would be better than a flag for Iraq.... (I'd do the research but even if I found the 'official' Army flag I wouldn't know how to post it...which is why there isn't a crest in the middle of Iowa biggrin.gif

Posted by: Brad Roberts Jul 31 2004, 09:11 PM

Pam,

save the flag (when you find it) to your desktop... then follow this. I'll take it and put it into the USA map.

When you save the pic to your desktop remember the name... browse to your desktop with the button in the pic below... find the name and upload it to "Andy's" server. DO NOT PREVIEW the post.

Ok! What a great idea ... but, I think I might have made it a bit easier ... let's see how many can post to this little automated map site I just set up ... have fun! Oh, you can select your flag too - so it's really easy to see where (even outside the US) everyone is! Be sure to leave the type of 914 you have in the message box, along with your website if you have one!

UPDATED COMMENTS: Hey, I just saw someone did a nice job of consolidating all the little logos on one map! Sorry to have suggested this ... nice little site if we ever want to do something like this again ... sorry, I tried!

I just have not updated the map in a few days.

Posted by: radivad Aug 3 2004, 11:17 AM

I am in Fort Collins, Colorado right now. Until this summer I was living in Bozeman, Montana. And for the record, I drove the 914 most days unless I had to take the Land Cruiser out just to get to work in the snow. Amazingly, no additional rust seemed to form this last winter, or at least that is what I am telling myself. I won't be doing that again even though it does make it through some fairly deep powder pretty nicely unsure.gif

No, there's definitely more than one and there's some very good places for maintenance in the Phoenix area.

I'm in Flagstaff, AZ. There are at least 2 other 914s in town, but only 1 that I see regularly. The guy knows about this site, but I don't think he even lurks here. I see him every morning on the way to work - our 914s are both daily drivers.
