914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Gas cap seal Group Buy closed- Now on website

Posted by: Mikey914 Oct 21 2011, 08:18 PM

Started from another member's thread, I thought I should make an formal Group buy so all can see.

I have the early and late styles.

the larger metal cap is early, the black plastic cap is late.

The first early is show with the old seal removed. The new seals are made from solvent resistant rubber.

I couldn't put these on the site as the shipping is forced to be priority mail. I can ship priority mail at $4.75. But I can provide the shipping via reg mail at $1.95.

Just add to the thread and I'll PM you the info.

-Mark

ACTUALLY fellas Pelican DOES have these in stock. I purchased one the other day after doing some digging on their site. I also let them know that "filler neck gasket" doesn't come up in their search, so hopefully they'll remedy this soon. beerchug.gif

Sometimes I hate the autocorrect "feature" on my iPhone. Payment just sent to the correct PayPal address...

Posted by: Mikey914 Nov 9 2011, 04:40 PM

As these require me to wait in line at the post office I've tried to make a once a week deal out of it. I didn't make it in last week, but did Monday, and shipped the balance out last night.

So, reg mail should be less than 5 days pretty much anywhere, if you don't have them in Monday's mail drop me a PM, but I suspect that they will be there shortly.

-Mark

Posted by: 76-914 Nov 9 2011, 06:12 PM

Ain't that the truth. I had to wait in their line yesterday. And they wonder why they're in the RED.

Posted by: Black22 Nov 9 2011, 07:30 PM

I waited in line for 20 minutes yesterday. Out of the dozen or so people in line, guess how many were helped?

2 customers! 2 in 20 mins! I turned around and walked out.

Your more of a saint than me Mark! Thanks for waiting in line for us!

Posted by: Mikey914 Nov 10 2011, 12:14 AM

It gets better. I had been shipping stuff on ebay and the website overseas using flat rate priority mail envelopes. Not cheap but affordable. About 3-4 months ago stuff started getting lost. Even though I had personally taken the packages to the post office there was no record that were even in the system. So, I started waiting in line and insisting they scan them in so it showed they had recieved them. They still got lost. It wasn't until One came back to me that I realized what they were doing. They take the flat rate stuff and send it DHL World mail to a hub in Belgium, and then put it into the local mail system there. They make shear profit as all they do is consloidate and have DHL pick up. There is no accountability and needless to say, it's not too reliable.

Sorry....had to vent.

Looks like most got through. I few were sent as gifts so I didn't have to pay the fees ( I do appreciate the idea), the problem is that it will not pop up an address or print shipping label. This is how I was tracking what needed to be sent. I just removed the shipping button as they shipped.

I know the weather on the East coast was bad last week, but as I understand it the delay would be minimal.

If these have not shown up drop me a PM with your email and I can check to make sure these got out.

Actually I do adjust the shipping. For the most part it's pretty close, but it will not account for flat rate packaging, and sometimes will not add together parts into one shipment. I'm looking at redoing the site sometime this winter. If you want to PM me what you need I can send you the invoice with the correct shipping.

Just let me know,

Thanks,
mark
