I'm curious to see if anyone has pics of a car that uses the Sheridan F/G Nose and rear. Specifically how they attach it to the car.
I'm hoping someone has a pic of the car without the F/G on....
Kinda like this (my car)....

The Sheridan kit mounts pretty much the same way (Dzus fastners)
cheers,
Jeroen
Hi Jeroen,
I figured it did. I was hoping to see someones "cleaner install. On my car I currently leave a lip of the old fenders and fasten to them. On the Sheridan website, you can see that all of the seams of the body kit are lined up, which to me indicates that all of the fenders and lips are gone and some sort of gusseting has been welded on underneath to make it all pretty.
I want to see what that looks like...
Thanks,
Bill P.
How many do you want ?
B
B,
I knew you'd have pics............
Basically I need shots of the fastening points....the lips on my car push the f/g up and everthing is slightly uneven. If I just to a new nose...or rear...I'd like to make it all fit flush...
If you've got any give me a few more pics of how/where the fastening points are joined to the frame...
Thanks,
Bill P.
Let me see if I have close ups of the mounting points. I dont think I have them on this computer. I do know that we used 1/4 inch square tubing and made a "frame" that the Dzus tabs welded too. By heating the square tube you can dupe the line that used to be the top of the rear fender.

Maybe these will help...

Shows the square tube we used.
Thanks Guys...that's all i need for now...gives me some ideas.
Back to the spread sheets...
Bill P.
I gotta see this spreadsheet one day.
Remember... when your spreadsheet is finished, multiply your calculated budget by 2 and then add 50%

*****WARNING....THREAD HI-JACK IN PROGRESS*******
I need some dope....straight info, on Sheridan fenders.
I wanna go with the max size wheels & tiars my class will allow.....10 X 16 wheels....so, maybe eleben inch slicks...or 10s.
Which of Sheridans fenders do I need to pull this off?
WAG at how many bucks?
Hi JP,
I'll assume you're doing the work yourself.
$900 for the front nose. ~$500 for the rear 2 flared qtr panels. Rocker panels to match the flair int he front is ~$175. Are you going to paint it yourself like me or send it out. Paint the car yourself...$300 in materials. Go out to someone...$1K to $2K.
That's for the flairs that fit 10" rims.
Dzus fasteners aint cheap. Can't recall.
10x16 rims....$200 to $600 each.
I'll give ya a copy of my "spreadsheet" if you want.
Bill P.
Lot's more stuff in there.
$pread$heet,eh?
Thanks, Bill, but I can do the math on this here napkin
Are usings spacers to get your wheels out....if so, how thick?
JP,
I'm currently running Rich Bontempi's f/g flairs. They appear to be wide enough for 10 inch wide rims in the back and possibly in the front. But you would have to run staggered tire sizes...most likely 23.5x10.5 or 11.5 x 16 in back and 22x10x16 in front. Hoosier makes these sizes. On my current cantilever setup I run 28mm spacers up front and 43mm spacers in the rear.
I'm looking at the sheridan f/g to go with the larger tire setup. I'd like to have the same tires on all 4 corners. The cheap way I'm gonna try first is take my existing f/g and try to flair the fronts myself. We'll see.....
I figured I needed more tire cuz of the engine I bought...should be here on Wednesday or Thursday...I'll post pics of it then.
Bill P.
Maybe I missed it, but what kind of engine did you decide on???
cheers,
Jeroen
Humph......for some reason I thought you were using the Sheridan stuff. I don't like the idea of using a one piece nose....so, now I look at the HPH stuff. Now I gotta root out that website.
(edit)
No luck....somebody help me out here. A phone number would be good. Our frien Brad has made hisself uncontactable (new wurd) via the net.....prolly need a secret code or sumthin'.
Never mind, got it.
Hi JP,

I'll take a pic of my flair off the car tonight. Post em for your viewing pleasure. He has 2 types (race and street). I bought the heavier street version which is still very light cuz then I wouldn't break them leaning on them while fiddlin with the car.
I agree about the 1 piece nose...a pain. My first pass is to try and glass on fender flairs on the existing Bontempi front fenders...cheaper and easier. But tha't because I want to run pretty large slicks.
If your car is still going to be primarily Auto-x you should be able to fit 10x16 rims with Hoosier 22x10x16 tires on it. Goodyear does not make this size. Hoosier slicks in this size come in R35 for Auto-x and R45 for track.
A local guy with a 914-6 runs these sizes and is VERY quick on course...always top 5.
I'll post tonight...
Bill P.
Thanks, Bill, I appreciate it.
I can go 15 or 16 inch wheels/tires. It'll probably come down to what I can find for wheels.....cheep is gud, but light is better
This stuff will drop the car into an AX only rig.....trailer queen. The provisional SCCA rules are a lot simpler.
No worries about max tread width and with a 2.7L, I can drop to 2050 lbs. Glass hoods & gutted doors are in the mix.....won't need headlights. Dunno, it's a big step.
