914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Pierburg Fuel Pump

Posted by: JawjaPorsche Oct 28 2011, 02:22 PM

I was going through my stuff this morning and I found a new fuel pump someone gave me a long time ago. I went online to try to find what it fits but the pump has no markings except for the name "Pierburg."

Are there any Pierburg experts out there that might point me in the right direction?

Pictures attached. Thank you in advance.

Terry

A rotary pump for carbs? What's the mod #?

Pierburg makes a wide range of pumps in different pressure and volume specifications. Might wanna slip off the insulation and see if there are any identifying marks on the body of the pump.

Hi Cap'n

You are much smarter than me! Why didn't I think of that!

I removed the insulation and there is markings on the pump!

99T183 and 7.21565.00

Does anyone know what these markings mean?

Thank you in advance.

Terry

It's a "universal fit" pump, but the pressure output is suited to /6 CIS systems.

SPECS:

EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP

150 LPH @ 5BAR

INLET CONNECTION 15mm(1/2)

OUTLET CONNECTION M12X1.5

LENGTH: 200 mm

DIAMETER: 42 mm or 60 mm (with rubber sleeve)

MAX POWER/Cons(Amps): 10

CROSS REF:

BOSCH: #0580464070, #0580464008, #058046491

All you need to add is the check valve fitting at the outlet end.

Specs are straight out of an e-bay ad that comes up on a google search for "Pierburg 7.21565.00"

google is your friend

CAn someone translate 150 LPH @ 5BAR

into normal language...like FI needs 30 pounds of pressure for example???

Posted by: Cap'n Krusty Oct 28 2011, 07:18 PM

One BAR equals 14.5 PSI, more or less. 5 BAR is about 72.5PSI. Again, Google is your friend. CIS FI (K-jetronic) runs at that kind of pressure.
