Hi All,

Just joined this forum. I have had 914's for over 10 years now, from a 914-4 and now a 914-6. Sold the 914-4, and now just have the 914-6. It has a 2.7l, with GT flares. It's the all white one that shows up to some of the breakfastes... smile.gif

I just put up a video clip of me autox'n the 914 on my website.

Follow the links to the 914-6.

(Still adding material...)

The wheels are 16x8s all around. (For street duty) When I am autox'n, then I use 17x7.5 Cup wheels with Hoosiers. And thanks for the comments on the car. The bumpers are glass and integrated into the rockers/flares. Way cool, and reduces weight a little bit more. smile.gif

Hey Brett,

I saw you a couple months ago in cupertino. I was in my truck then. Welcome to the site! I've gotten my 914 back on the road, so look for me in my silver teener!

Welcome and good lookin' car....can't get the vid to load, but that's prolly my problem.

Nice to have another 2.7L sixer around here.
Any specs on the motor?

Hello Jen,

Yes, I remember your white truck with the 914 sticker in the window.

Congrats on getting the 914 back on the road. smile.gif

Pretty much stock motor. Well, kind of...

Euro Pistons, modified E cams, and webers. (Can we say Induction Noise?) The car never, ever, gets hot. So the motor is pretty robust. Sometime in the future, I will replace the motor with a 3.2 with the Bosche FI. Right now, it has too much power for the street tires. And it will get me in trouble one day. smile.gif

i could be in the market for a 2,7 -- it'll either be that or i'll rebuild my 2,2...

how modified are those E cams - does the right (left...) one still have the MFI drive cog ?

i expect to take the 911 out of service in October, will want to have it running again not later than mid-April...

It will be a while until I put the other motor in. Too many other projects, including my house, that will take time and money. So, if you are in the immediate market, then you will need to look elsewhere. sad.gif

And I don't have the specs on the cam changes, as someone else did the work.

not immediate, just before Spring :-)

the MFI drive cog should be clearly visible sticking out through the rear (as installed in a 914...) end of the right side cam box. i think it's under the tin in a 914.6 installation...

it's looking like i'll be rebuilding the 2,2 - but if a 2,7 materialised at the right time for the right price... (obviously - the 'right time' would be before i'd already started spending money on 2,2 parts :-) ...)
