914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 914 race car smashed on trailer

Posted by: d914 Aug 6 2004, 08:04 PM

Ok had the car back 20 minutes and BANG...a SUV back ends the 14 on the trailer. Minimal body damage but it hit my exhaust.

Twin pipes withe bullet mufflers. Crushed the tail pipe tips but worst bent the header on the driver side. Muffler now interfears(sp) with the shifter and the whole set up now shaped like a V. Primaries bent.... Pics in morning..

Are headers typically fixable and or if not who supplies the shorty six header????

NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING HAPPY!!!!! need to be fixed by next saturday..

Yeah. Just get a damage repair estimate from Brad. That'll teach 'em! laugh.gif

Seriously, though, that's bad news. I hope it didn't mess up the exhaust studs. Good luck with the repairs.

Header is toast. TWISTED up by the exhaust port up front, bent at the bend in the primary, bent where it joins the muffler pipe.

Now, whats the best replacement, I have shorty -6 headers...came with the car???? any idea where or whats the next best option.
