Not sure I have any pictures Jim, but that's what I have on mine for now. You have no clearance problems in the front but I had to roll the rear. No time to check for pictures right now. Car is at McMark's OC shop, maybe he can shoot a pic or two...

thanks : )

i put one loosely on my car - it is not yet 5 lug.

Jim,

I've got some 4 to 5 lug adapters for the front and drilled 5 lug rotors for the rear I can sell you if you need some. smile.gif

I bought them for my '71 before it got rearended and I don't really need them now... confused24.gif

Those will need a fender pull, The 911R offset is what you would need to not have to modify the fenders. There are some phonedials that have the correct offset also.
4th one down is what you want.

Posted by: Woody Nov 15 2011, 10:23 AM

Posted by: jimkelly Nov 15 2011, 10:48 AM

i bought a set off the classifieds last week - always liked cookies.

gonna look good on my white 76.

can't wait to get it suby powered - maybe suby trans too.

plan on 911 front suspension as well.

gonna take it to summit and see if i can keep up with type47 (jim)

hopefully have the cash to get moving on this project summer 2012.

btw - those cookies look great on your car 6freak - i was wondering if they were 15x7's - cool.

i suspect that there is a negligible weight difference between a cast and forged wheel.

I had 15 X 7 Cookies on the Grey Ghost. Tires were 185/65 and I had little clearance on the drivers' side rear, but sufficient to not rub tire.

Put 15 X 6 Fuchs on and will be going back to the Cookies 'cause I like them better.

Posted by: fasthonda Nov 15 2011, 06:50 PM

Here's mine with a 15x7 Fuchs (same offset as the cookie cutters) with a 205/5--15 Michelin pilot sport cup which runs a little wide. You need to roll the inner lip and they will fit fine. 205/50-15 is a good fit but I will eventually go to 225/45 -15. My rear fenders are slightly worked but that wasn't required.
The Fuchs are signifigantly lighter than the Cookies.

I always thought the fuchs were a bit lighter than the cookies. However, I just weighed both and was a little surprised. Not exactly apples to apples as they both have tires on them, but enough to get an idea.

34# 15x7 cookie with 205/50 V700
35# 15x7 cookie with 225/50 RA1
36# 15x7 fuch with 225/50 V700

Taken with a bathroom scale with poor lighting.

Those are the best looking cookies I've seen! Are you considering flat black?

Posted by: Madswede Nov 15 2011, 07:51 PM

Here are a few pics of my car when she had "yellow is faster" cookies. I remember the tires were Dunlops, but not the exact size. I believe They were 205/50s. Maybe O'Brien remembers.

Forgot to say that I believe there was little if any rolling of the rear fenders for those. There wasn't very much clearance but they fit. Negative camber was noticeable when seeing her from behind, but it wasn't extreme.

Old pics from 5-6 years ago. I ran 205/50 Kumho V700's on these as I recall.

as most have said - it is more about the dims of a specific 205x50x15 than it is about whether the cookies are 6" or 7".

i look forward to the day my car has 5 lug and a suby powerplant in it - the suby high rpms with the low profile tires - should be fun as hell to drive : )

Posted by: Woody Nov 16 2011, 12:01 PM

Just got a set of em off a 944. They are almost showroom perfect. Will I need to run spacers to fit em?

Posted by: jimkelly Nov 16 2011, 12:06 PM

i assume you bought 15x7 5 lug cookies.

front: they all say - maybe up front - as to not rub at full turn.

rear: rears will likely need fender lip rolled.

Or, if you haven't already bought 7x15, you can buy the 6x15 which will
fit no problem, just like 6" fuchs.

Has anyone tried the1986 944 turbo offset 16x7 fuchs on the rear of a narrow body?

They are the same offset as 15x7 fuchs and cookies and 16x7 fuchs.

the 951 16x7's have clearance for big brakes , thats it,

Now late 944 phonedials 52mm ofset ? is another story they fit and need a bit of a spacer even.

Posted by: BK911 Jan 27 2012, 10:49 AM

Just out of curiousity...

Why run 15x7s with 205.50s instead of 15x6s with 205.50s?
Tire patch should be almost identical.
Is it all the advantages of a heavier wheel? smile.gif

Posted by: campbellcj Jan 27 2012, 11:08 AM

Within reason, it is better to not have the sidewalls "pinched" inwards as is the case with a 205mm tire on a 6" (152mm") rim. The identical tire will perform better on a wheel that is optimally sized versus one that is too narrow, or too wide.

There is of course a weight differential though.
