914World.com _ 914World Garage _ How do you remove the glove box lock

I should know this, but I don't. How the heck do you remove the glove box lock?

I recall having to remove the glove box insert or the radio (or both) to get access. Then there's a retaining nut (24mm?) holding it to the dash.

Take out the radio or the faceplate and unscrew the retaining nut ... smash.gif

I remember having to take off the part that swivels to get it out. It's held on by some crazy-looking fastener but I think I got it off with a regular screwdriver.

with the dash frame in? Its a bitch, but doable.
Youll need to stretch out first then using a stubby flat blade there is a X screw on the back

Thanks. I have the dash out of the car so should be easy to do.

Pay close attention when you remove the springs from the glove box door (if you need to) Reconnecting those springs was one frustrating experience!
