Sorta looks like a straightened out tab that would hold the big bumper on a 75/76 but his car is earlier.

If you're referring to what I think you are, that's for the tow hook.

They are incredible-looking. Though I have to say we can't fit tires that wide on there. They're rubbing both inside and on the flare.
245s can clearly be done (James' car had them with 18 diameter wheels and they had enough room). With those 16s apparently we will have to find a tire make/model that's a bit less actual width from sidewall to sidewall.

Very nice indeed, the rear lights are not to my taste but so what... as long as you like them,
what is the colour code for this paint?
Posted by: ellisor3 Dec 4 2011, 05:17 PM
Nelson,
You're car looks fantastic. Can't wait to see the finished project. If you had made Joe drink a little less, you would have an engine in that bitch by now. Work+Beer=more progress.

I don't know off the top of my head, but there is another thread about that. "Phoenix Red PPG Paint Code" it's called I think. The responses there pointed some resources out, but I don't know where Joe eventually found it online. It came out virtually identical to the original with a kind of vividness I know wasn't there before (but then the original paint was ~35 years old when I bought the car)

You can still see the chassis stamp! Doesn't this go into the database somewhere?
