Looks like it is still melting/dripping dry underneath from the glacier it was found in. Always nice to have a clean car before you start working on it. w00t.gif java script:emoticon(':woohoo:',%20'smid_62')

Posted by: PanelBilly Dec 2 2011, 06:58 PM

It would make a great rat rod...Looks like the rat part is already complete.

Posted by: my wife hates my car Dec 2 2011, 06:59 PM

It was handlin' pretty decent until the trailing arm broke off......and then the door popped out.............that's when it got kinda hard to steer. unsure.gif

I checked the vin # out and this was actually Otzi the Iceman's 914. It broke down on him one day while he was driving through the Alps in a bad snow storm. 5,300 years later, this is what you end up with. The car is not quite as well preserved as the Iceman. barf.gif FYI Otzi's friends called him Hank.

Nothing a little bondo can't fix.

It will take a little more time to block sand.

To bad Overhauling is not on any more I would nominate it and then you have someone else rebuild it.

I had a guy come to my shop looking for a job one day. I asked where he worked before. He told me he worked at a used car lot. He told me his boss taught him how to hang body filler in mid air! wacko.gif unsure.gif huh.gif slap.gif

I saw that door and thought NOS too. I bet it still has a part number sticker on it.
Even the rattiest cars often have some treasure hidden in the pile of junk.
