Looking at a fairly clean 914 for a project, pans, trunks, door handle area, jambs and sail panels all look good. Hell Hole has rust. 2 in slot hole on left side of long and maybe 2-1/2 in slit on the right side. On the left I believe it's just perforated into the area just below the shelf. On the right side I can put my fingers in and curl them to the left towards the driver side. I believe my fingers may be inside the long here.
I'm not afraid to do a little cutting and welding but I don't want to waste my time if it's too far gone. What do ya'll think?
If theres rust on the suspension pic up points.. then say no...
Longs you can weld in new material..
If it flexes (ie big butt test) then run..
Good luck... We need pics..
Any body have pictures of rusty suspension pick up points?
I say if the price is right then buy it. You can pretty much fix anything on these cars.
