Ya-roon,

grasshopper, not only do you have to see the weld, you have to hear the weld!!!!

In tight spaces you have to imagine where you want the metal to be deposited.

that why its always recommended to get oneself into a comfortable position, and do a dry run before striking an arc..

Yeah, but I never get that nice "stack of dimes" look to my welds

Yeah huh? What the hell were you thinking?? laugh.gif

To me that simply proved that it "did" penetrate. A lot of welding jobs basically lay a bead of junk on top and don't get proper penetration. That will last the life of the car. Good welding is an art. smilie_pokal.gif
