I left work only minutes before this blissful moment.
The top was off, and windows down. Wind tugged at my clothes and hair, pulling this way and that. I did my regular scan of the highway for Polizei. The car pushed along about 90 (indicated) in fourth gear. I pushed the go-pedal harder.
As speed increased, I passed under the bridge. Trapped by the bridge walls, the roar of six angry dragons howled behind me, and the SUV driver I was passing looked over, startled. I grinned at her, and shifted to fifth.
Pushing the accelerator down again, speed increased as I moved uphill. I glanced at the speedo, and quickly down at the GPS. 111 indicated, 99 miles per hour on the GPS. As I crested the hill, I decided that I was pushing my luck, and eased the speed back down to about eighty.
Ahhhh… to own a 914.

I'm still at work. I'll let you know when I get home how eventful the 1.8 mile trip is/was.
Good story LB.
