Maybe if someone that is going could give me their cell# I could call and see where you're at when I get off of work. Please let me know.

Well guys,

Would you mind some company from Arizona? driving.gif

I've got some time free and would love the drive over, cruise the mountains for a while and drive back. There may be other AZ residents who would be interested in joining me.

PS: would any one offer a cel-phone number that I could leave for my wife in case she needs to reach me? You can PM me if prefered.

Many thanks & see you there!

Posted by: Aaron Cox Aug 26 2004, 10:44 PM

PM sent

I'm still planning on driving up in the morning. Anyone want to caravan from San Diego? Here's my schedule and what I propose, if you'd like to caravan up to together.

Plus, I'll have an empty passenger seat if someone is 914-less and you want to meet me at Denny's. (But note, I have 0 interior, things are quite loud, and you may be asked to work on the car in case of emergency. smile.gif ).

-Steve

7:20 am: Arrive Denny's @ I-15 and Mira Mesa
- 9898 Mira Mesa Blvd
- San Diego, CA 92131

7:45 am: Drive San Diego Denny's to I-15 and Cajalco Rd
- 75.5 miles
- http://maps.yahoo.com/dd_result?ed=P9bXBOV.wim690fGtsma26khlYnaa6ifYJOwPD.vui0eOBUgib9DSQ1vY4fi.kRl4hYcz7drQhsv&csz=San+Diego+CA+92131&country=us&tcsz=corona%2C+ca&tcountry=us&name=Denny%26%2339%3Bs&desc=%28858%29+578-9090

9:14 am: Meet up with everyone @ I-15 and Cajalco Rd
- 2 hours or so?

And then, just FYI, Dana Point back to San Diego is only about an hour:

I can't make it and I was looking forward to getting the beast out of the garage!
The wife planned a last minute trip to Yosemite and we are leaving this morning.
Is anybody driving up to the German Auto Fest on Sunday the 12th?
I got double secret permission to go to that.
Maybe we could all meet somewhere in the middle.

Good turn out, 10 cars. I have pictures in my camera that I gave to Aaron to take more pictures on the rest or the run. It was nice meeting all of you. One guy drove all the way from Arizona with his son. Wow!! I think he was the only one with A/C. Thanks Mark

Posted by: 3d914 Aug 28 2004, 10:53 PM

Great job Aaron,

That was a winner. My son and I would definately do that again. After lunch we stopped at Laguna beach & my son got to play in the water. I think he might be hooked on CA.

After the fun run the ride back wasn't near as entertaining, but we made decent time once we got off that 55. I need an event like this in CA at least once/twice a year to continue to remind me why I don't want to move out there.

Great place to visit, but ...

Thanks again - especially for lunch.

I'll get some pictures up tomorrow.
