I'm wondering what's the best method and materials for removing all the accumulated grease, brake dust and general crud from the inside of some Fuchs 4 bolt wheels? I'm thinking oven cleaner and a brass wire wheel on a drill or grinder, want to clean them up without damaging them. Thanks for any recommendations.

super purple....
then simply green
Then oven cleaner, with Lye in it.
Wear gloves, mask and eye protection.

Oven cleaner cannot be left on to long or it will turn the aluminum black.
Read and follow the directions.
Sometimes it takes more than one application.

Last resort...glass bead.
