I'd offer $100 for that.

But...scrap values are higher than that these days. So, people will scrap them out for more than that.

The Fuchs are probably worth $350. Engine and tranny may be salvageable since you said it ran recently. Where are you located in SC?

Where do you keep finding these cars? Would this be 5?

It would be...but I wouldn't keep it. Parts only.....
It does have a title! If someone wanted it I would give them the tub after I was done (If I bought it)

Offer what the scrap cost is. It's not worth more unless you spend the time to part it out really. So you are doing them a favor.
Here you would likely get $150 for the scrap.

The Wheels are worth more than the scrap value
Posted by: PeeGreen 914 Jan 13 2012, 12:45 PM
So? The rest of the car isn't worth much.
Posted by: billh1963 Jan 13 2012, 12:54 PM
Will take $500 to buy it. I figured wheels are $350 to $400 (I don't need them...I have 4 sets of Fuchs now), complete engine/transmission a few hundred, center console/gauges, miscellaneous bits, etc.
I'm really just interested in tearing one apart to learn (and make mistakes) on a car other than my own!

No comments on the sustainable (green initiative) carpet?

I wanted to scream, "Why didn't you cover the 814 AFTER the tree fell on it!!
was a pretty decent before the accident
just by judging all the misc. stuff/parts is still all there.

$500 is a cheap education if that is all you want to do but more than you should pay for that car.

That's what I did on a similar car and it was worth it. I only paid 200 but up to 500 is still ok and its a great education.

you are a sucker for punnishment!!!
I bet he gets this car .
I've been looking for a nice set of Fuchs by the way.....
did they just leave it uncovered? i've never seen moss growing on the carpet of a 914 -
but engine and transmission are probably worth it along with the wheels if all 4 are there.

Tarps are cheap at Harbor Freight.
It's a no brainier the targa top (and windshield)was damage
and will need some form of protection.

I would be happy to help your tuition by paying a fair price for the drivers side engine bay shelf if it is in good shape...

I need a good set of fuchs...but this car looks to only have 2.
it's got an engine...windshield, a lot of stuff.
ebay this car parted out is worth $2k minus a lot of time and effort.
does it have a set of fuchs?
