I am looking to redo my doors on my '72 and would like to keep it as original as possible. Does anyone know where I can get the basket weave to match my seats?
Will they send a sample piece so I can match it?
AA says they have some close but only want to sell you new seats and door skins all at the same time. My seats are in good shape.

Just go to a shop that specializes in VW vinyl...all the freaking same....

Its still pretty hard to come by. Some shops have stuff that is close but not original. I actually sell the material. Its $30 a yard. It is the orignal stuff.

I don't think they are that bad....I've used them in the past for bulk material and new seat covers...considering the alternatives, it can be a hit and miss if trying to use a local upholstery shop.

World will send you samples (swatches) of the material to make sure you get the grain pattern and color you need.

Do you remember what it cost per yard. Their site doesnt show prices anymore.

They have an 800 #...call them...if ya want the exact stuff and it's not local, hard to be picky about price.... blink.gif
