Sooner or later we should cooridinate a USA fun run day where EVERYONE gathers in different parts of the USA for a fun run Saturday just to see how many 914's we could get on the road in ONE day. East coast could start...

that sounds like a ton of fun! I heard about this on the Pelican 914 board... had to take a look over here for myself to see what the fuss was all about. I'm geinuinely suprised to see so many 914 enthusiasts all together. I'm definitly going to make it to one of these next fun run events!

Seriously, the PP 914 board is kinda nowhere, but the 911 forum has a lot of posts regarding runs like these. I posted the runs here and on Pelican. Here are some pictures from the http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=178059&perpage=20&highlight=mulholland&pagenumber=1
Count the 914's compared to the 911's. This could lead one to believe that either:
Pelican is more social, or
911's are real Porsches
, or914 owners just have more excuses.

It's nice to be loved and appreciated. As they say, bad press is better than no press. But a few clarifications are in order.
Brad. I'm expending a great deal of effort training Aaron. While it is true that real assholes evolve from humble beginnings over a number of years and life experiences, this kid is a natural. The last thing I would do is get him lost in the desert. He'd probably wander around for 40 years and really raise hell.
Aaron. Perfect assholes don't need no Preparation H! And grasshopper, you can see by slits' last post what I was talking about. Wit should be a fine edged sword, not a blunt instrument. In time this will all become clear.

OK guys! Back to the topic at hand (no punn intended )
Yes the drive home went fine. My son got to play in the ocean at Laguna beach, then we headed up the 55. Man traffic on that road sucks! The 60 was also backed up a mile down the exit on the 91/15, so we just went another 3 miles to catch the 10.
Got home about 9:30 as we made a couple of stops on the way.
I did get some nice pictures, but won't get them posted till probably this evening. Now my wife wants us all to go back out before the beaches are too cold. And I thought I had my dose of So Cal freeways for a while!

Me too... I'm in deep, deep, occasional lurk mode... Refocused for now. Billing consistant consulting hours, and down to 5 cars and a few other toys, non being P-cars... In escrow buying a place in Lake Havasu for fun, and I'll be spending plenty of time up there doing improvements over the next year. I'll be back at some point... Good news is it's easy to store cars in the dry desert on an acre!
I should be in Ventura at the GAF on Sunday unless I have to do a walk through that weekend in AZ. I'll be the one parked waaay offsite in the Vette...

I would like to see this become a regular thing. How about everyother month. One month in LA County and the next month down in OC? Or one month LA County the next in OC and the third month in SanDiego? I'm gone so much I should be able to make at least a few a year. 1 year 8 months and 2 weeks till retirement. I can't wait!

Oh. Well, you won't have any problem organizing a monthly drive since you are staying local.
You'll be near me (about 3 miles away). There are some local roads that are close enough for a spontaneous last minute runs too if you are interested.
What's your major?
