914World.com _ 914World Garage _ advice on P.C.V. or Krank vent.

Posted by: Philip W. Jan 25 2012, 04:34 PM

I have no pcv valve just a hose from the oil filler location to the air box. Checking the hose, lots of moisture and oil residue. Question is should I get a pdf and put that there and where to get one. Next question is can I just cap that, or will this cause a crank case pressure- or lack of ventilation. I have the hose chart from jeff Bowlsby and I find it says pcv, - which I i dot not have right now.- bought it that way.

Just ask for a filler assembly from a '73 - '74 2.0L ... it'll fit and has the PCV valve in it. I know there are others, but don't remember the years.

'75 - '76 won't have it.

The valve is not in the air filter assembly. It's in the oil filler tower, next to the funnel that you pour the oil into.

What year is your 914, and which fuel system does it have? It may wind up better to use a "breather box" setup, particularly if you have carbs.
