914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Trailing arms are they good

So I'm waiting on the Muellers bearings and I'm doing everything to prep the arms. Cleaning/sandblasting/painting and new wheel bearings. Now I'm wondering before I install the bearings are my arms straight. Is there someway to tell if the arms are straight. Is there some sort of measurements or trick to finding this out.

How many alignment shims did you pull out when you removed them (you did save them I hope)

It never had shims. I started with a stripped/ready for paint chassis. I bought the chassis from an estate sale. Had no history as the owner past away.

Oh boy..

There is no easy way to tell. Look carefully down the flat inside wall of the control arm for any imperfections. When they bend.. that nice flat inside piece will get small creases in it near the pivot tube.
