So nice seeing a car without 300lbs of undercoating on everything
Posted by: ConeDodger Jan 27 2012, 10:22 AM
I was coming... But what's the point now that you will enter that sweet-ass machine?
Actually, I think I still am. Everything is kind of up in the air though. Got a job, but might get another job, and starting a business, YIKES!!

You'll probably lose points if you have to use tape to keep the headlights attached.

I'm driving cross country.....will be in my 997, though

Whats that weird light on the tail?
Hope the SLC parade is better then the Colorado one. Based on what was out here (lots of Cayennes and Caymans), the national PCA gang with the cool old stuff seems to be afraid of anything above sea level.
Car looks SO good.

You guys are all jealous cause you KNOW yellow is faster.

Hey, I'm the tour chair for the Cayenne Tours (over the river and through the woods to Miller Motorsports Park we go). They're rumored to have a couple of the factory Transsyberia cars for us! Miller has an offroad track there as well.
We'll see how many tenderfoots make the "grade" (literally).
Scott... do you have CuBase?

Wow Eric,
Beautiful car - have I missed the updates on its progress on Roadglue?

Can we just show up and crash the event or do you have to enter through the PCA? I'm not a PCA member. I got such a cold shoulder at from the Nord Stern membership guy several years ago I never bothered signing up.

What's really cool about these photos is that (note photo 3)you get to see, at work, the Brakemeister's special, patented ebrake set up.
If he's done your rear calipers, and hasn't included a set, drop him a friendly note, and I"m sure he'll send you a pair

Collars are way down on the GT shocks. Just checking the camber as I'm having a bear of a time fitting tires which is why mean ole Jeff is poke'n fun at my flares.
Ben, I'll fly you out and you can help put Humpty back together again!
Parade is in July and I want a running car damnit! Tired of showing up at 914 events in an ass dragger or a 4x4 waterpumper.

Hey Eric
It really, truly is a beautiful car....I think we're almost as anxious to see the full and final version as you.
Is there a site where one can see the car, from beginning to present?
Very jealous, in a good way

Thanks for sharing the pictures of those seats. They look great. I'd love to have seats along those lines for my car. Where is Hancock Upholstery? Are these seats one off?
QUOTE(Eric_Shea @ Jan 27 2012, 09:26 PM)
Thank you Sir.
Believe it or not, those are 914 seats that I had Hancock Upholstery custom build to GT seat specs. We used actual GT seats to get the bolster contour and a lot of pictures of real GT seats. They basically bolt right in (of course):

Here in Salt Lake. Yes, basically one off's. We used copper tubing to get the bolster profile then glassed everything in. A good amount of padding and someone who know's upholstery and you're good to go. Got the vintage cord from International.
Posted by: pete-stevers Jan 28 2012, 09:13 PM

Posted by: Eric_Shea Jan 29 2012, 11:29 AM
Steve. Here's a start:
Lopped off the headrests. Then attached the copper tube with the bolster profile. Copper is nice because it bends so easily. He then glassed that in and attached padding. I think anyone could do the basic shell, the trick is the upholstery after the fact. A good upholstery shop should be able to wrap it up.
