I know the Later Years have felt/fuzzy Window Channels & Early Years have Rollers.

Are they actually the same? Can you take the felt out of a later and put in the rollers?

Not interchangeable. Best bet is to the use the later door and not worry about the small stuff.

I have not tried to retrofit my late doors to early, but the extrusion has the track profile found in the early doors. From a manufacturing standpoint, I would be suprised if they cut a new die for the vertical track. It appears that the later doors were a redesign using the original tracks. I can't say with 100% confidence, but I would bet there were no changes on this part.

Since you allready have them check the fit, I'm courious now too.

PS the horizontal tracks that hold the rubber on the outside of the window and the "fuzzey" are different. I have these going in a group buy if you need new ones.

i converted an early set of doors to the late model regulators. the vertical channel the one nearest the door handle is similar. except.....where it bolts to the bottom of the door. early uses one bolt and the later door uses 2 bolts.

now the channel that holds the the triangle glass/vent wing is different between the two. the early channel is shaped like a C to hold the rollers in. the later uses a U shape to hold the felt in....

i hope this helps. i can take pix if you need them.
