1) picked up my stripped and repainted hood at Peformance Restorations in Mundiline Illinois
2) Pulled rear wheels, checked rear pad clearance (i installed them last weekend) and bleed / purged brake fluid.
3) pulled front tires, bleed brakes / purged fluid, re-set bearings on Drivers side (also new last weekend)

Went on ~ 20 min drive at 0-90mph to test out new tires (Azines), brakes and rotors (914ltd), hood, etc.
I LOVE MY CAR MAN!
Now, I may drive up to Ellcart Lake and watch porsche club racing tomorrow. Next AutoX is Sept 19th in Maywood.
What are your plans?
dooood.
I'm so jealous. stop that.
Oh yes, just to plug all the suppliers - I got the power bleeder from Pelican parts and as you all told me on this site:
That is the only way to bleed brakes!
I fixed the headlights in a 95 993 Vert. I wired up the guy's GPS to ignition switched power.. I installed rear wheel spacers. I fixed a Mitchell estimating issue on a Body shop's computer.. I sat in traffic on the way home. I stopped by Albertsons to grab some peanut butter and shampoo.
The real work starts tomorrow.

I sat around all afternoon verifing ship building specifications. and reading every thread of this board on the 1st page.
Then came home pulled out broken engine case stud, port matched both heads and cleaned up a bit.
Wife and I went to Santa Cruz, drank beer and ate calamari at the Crows nest, watched the sail boats cruise in and out of the harbor.
i did the fun run route again... saw a 914 on ortega highway goin other way... blew past some bikers
i worked on the puter all day, creating a program that automatically generates monthly invoices based on the customers activities using a ms-word template with our logo and stuff.
started around 10am and got it running right about 1/2 an hour ago ...
which means i can now run monthly billing with 1 single mouseclick!
Andy
I worked on a Solaris custom Jumpstart server all day until 6. Had dinner with my wife, watched a little tube, and then dicked around on the 914club server for a couple of hours.
We had a scheduled outage at work to power cycle 30 FC san switches and all of the servers attached to them for Sunday at 01:00 a.m. I hadn't made any plans for the weekend as a result. It got cancelled! Now I have a 3 day weekend and don't have work more then 30 minutes.
i got dumped and drunk.
GF left your ass ??

Your getting old.. I'm pretty sure you are not 21 yet. Be careful. Before you know it you will be a responsible adult...LOL
Tell dad I said hello.
B
Hey, I'm getting up there. I'm almost halfway up the hill!
Dad's off in Tahoe for the weekend. I'm stuck here. Working and schooling. I'm not bitter. <_<
Mer
Must be nice (Tahoe weekend).. so.. we *should* be holding the cookout at the Cilker house instead of my shop.... Does dad have a grill ?? LOL
B
I got up, loaded the truck and drove to my US address and mailed a bunch of stuff. Almost 6 hrs later I got home and started to gather tools to take up to the farm for Sunday.
Construction day up there if I can get to the house (another rain storm dumped here). Two new windows going in and starting to build a shed, 16' X 20' which will be a guest cottage someday.
Tomorrow, replacing the throttle cable on the boys 914 (if it's not raining again) and taking it for a drive while he's at work. Buying lumber for the farm. Then I'm making Marguritas.....
Went to Fry's and bought a 1GB compact flash card for my digital camera. Now I can take over 1000 shots at the GAF next weekend.
Bob
I was off on friday. Soo I got /L's engine and trans ready to be pulled, so Linda could pull it when she gets here. When she gets here in the morning we'll clean everything, do vaulve adj. Bowlsby harness, shifter bushings, remove A/C, clean up engine bay, new optmia, throttle cable, vacume hoses and fuel lines. I hope I didn't leave out anything. I'd like to have a little time to do some front supention iuses on Carerror. Trying to get the cars together for Porsche Fest.
Joe
My girlfriend and I joined our work buddies at Moon River Brewery for a few 22 oz brews then went home and made some great tacos . Laid down on the sofa and Friday was history!
I got off at noon too (as usual ) and went to my FLAPS to get a CHT for the 2.0. They wanted to give me an 003 for the '74 engine saying it's the same as a bus 2.0. I told them I'd have to pass (that's another thread comin' up).
Got some FI "O" rings and intake pipe boots tho.
Went to the Vet with our sick old little kitty. Couldn't find anything wrong so then we came home & took X-rays of her & sent them off to be checked by the specialist.
Ate dinner consisting of maccaroni salad & Johnsonville Brats while watching Starsky & Hutch
Nate & Brad... sorry to hear 'bout what's goin on... bummer
.......b
Took off from work at about 2pm thinking that I was going to have some time to work on the 914, wife had different ideas.
Ended up digging up my kids swing set to move to a different place in the yard. Were talking 20' 6X6 posts that were buried about 5' in the ground. Lots-o-fun for a friday afternoon.
That's OK though I am picking up my 2.0 this morning.
Oh yea and drank beer
Worked yesterday on two job quotes for 1/2 a day then was in a all afternonn meeting, if ya know what I mean Spent the afternoon watching Jay Jay the jet plane and playing Thomas the Tank Engine with my son
This weekend is finish the rock around the back on the house, take my mother out for her 76th B-day then spend sometime on the teener, washing, detail inside, disconnect rear sway bar and replace brake light switch.
Got off at 5:00, came home and decided to take my daughter out for some German cuisine at weinerschnitzel. Got back home and lazed until about 9 or so when my son wanted me to take hime downtown and drop him off at one of the clubs so he could party with some friends. Wish I was 22 again.
AlllRIGHT !! Everyone to the Cilker HOUSE pronto...
Oh.. damn. Andy and I have to remove and repair his tranny today.
Damn work always gets in the way of having fun.
I havent been in a pool since July.
B
I took off at lunch Thrusday
Worked the honeydo list Friday. The kid & crew got in late
last night. We'll make some more points today & then we're goin' fishin' this evening.
Gotta do a compression check on the 2.7L sometime in the next few days. The motor doesn't seem to have the snap that it used to....or I'm gettin' jaded.
Got off work at 5:30 - what a day - we are making 4 commercial lawn mowers for a show in less than 3 weeks - still doing some fab work but assembly has started. Gonna be close...
Got home, worked on finishing the programming for the inner fender well liners - almost done. At least the big table is gone from the family room (I had a 36 x 72" table in there to do the layout - can you say pissed off wife!). Went to bed at 11:00, got up mowed the lawn, took down my sons tents. Now I am getting ready to fix the leak I created last weekend on the 914. Apparently I got a valve cover gasket off center when it went back on - little pool of oil under that side, I ony started it to see how well I did on the valve adjust. I did the valve adjust last weekend and after I started her, notice the leak. Have not had time in the last week to get back to it.
Now I want to finish the tune up, valves are set, gonna check timing, adjust plug gaps - got a XR700 so no points. I will work on the idle setting last. Then a little clean up of the engine compartment. Finally I willl install the rear valence noe that a factory muffler is installed.
M
Ask dad if I can take Scuba lessons with you.
B

went to pick up my buddy who flew in from seattle at 1230am on friday morning. took the teener and had a lot of fun on late night uncrowded highways.....
friday had fun driving around to show my friend different towns and in western mass (in the teener!) and we ended up at the amherst brewing company with a flight of samples and a plate of beer batter fired pickles....
then dinner was fresh lobster, seared scallops with chipotle pasta, homemade clam/mussel chowder and a nice bottle of white wine....
today was sturbridge and tomorrow down to mystic to see the tall ships....
Took off at 2:30 with wife and daughter for SF. Looked at furniture until 5:00. Drove to South Beach Marina near the Giants ballfield and loaded sleeping gear on the boat and carjacked a few cold ones . Went to the ballgame which is 100 yards from my boat and watched the Giants kick ass (18 runs) against Dbacks. Went out to eat after the game with wines and back on board for the night at Midnight. Slightly hung over and staying mostly horizontal today.
Getting the 914 ready for the six drivetrain; changed the shift linkage over for side shift and put main seal in trans.
cut the grass, pulled out some outta-control-huge dahlias and planted some day lillies & mums.
oh, and took pictures of my new valence. I like it
I quit work at 1:00
1) Fixed-up an electric pump to shoot juice on the windshield.
2) Went to the car registration office to get a temporary license
3) Went to tech inspection.
a) slight buble in one of the brake hoses
slight leak left front shock absorber
c) both engine mounts completely shot
d) loud muffler
e) a couple of minor electrical gremlins.
Spend today (Saturday) fixing these things, but the muffler is still a little loud.
This is all on the Ravenna green teener I picked up in Boston last weekend, just ahead of the East Coast Ramble.
Hopefully, I will have full license plates on the car within a cpouple of days. I cant hen stick the 6 in !

Wanted to leave early Friday but had to finish some tasks to make up for poor performance review i.e. excuse for not giving raises this year.
Erected my fully enclosed car canopy so I can temporarily move junk from my puny garage so I can make room for my puny 914.
Got some doors from Jason for a special project. Drooled at his Boxster parts and discussed body design.
Besides spending time with my daughter and wife, no special labor day activities just cleaning around the house, yard work, and car maintenance. Maybe I'll get some sleep Monday.
I decided that flowers are just plants and there's nothing wrong with nice looking plants, right?
Kevin will back me up on that one.
Friday: Came home exhausted from a 10 hour day working in the sun and took a nap, then buttoned up the bearings on the trailer for my dad's big fishing trip to Canada.
Saturday: Came home exhausted from a short 8 hour day working in the sun and took another nap, then cleaned out my daily driver to take back to school and put a longer pig-tail connector on the trailer to match my dad's new(er) truck. Currently throwing a few back with the old man , watching LSU loose and Minnesota (my school) kick ass!
David
Went out to eat mexican with my girls and my buddy
Greg who was down from San Jose. (He keeps asking me if I know of anybody in San Jose with a flared dark grey teener that sounds bitchin, seems to have made a deep impression on him)
FWD: It's 11:30 pm me and Greg our on a long lonely stretch of country road with me behind the wheel of his 2003 Maxima when this Camaro SS hits warp speed around us. Next thing I know were on his ass at 135 when Camaro starts to pull away.....oh well we tried.
Could of been worse, at least we were'nt in my teener. heh
well let's see, went to Hooter's Thurday night, I was off Friday, spent all day with my son, hungover... got up at oh... around 8 this morning, opened up the garage, welded in rear swaybar mounts, decided to work on grinding out 4 motor mounts, and had the grinder kick back on me, in an attempt to grind my face off... knocked my safety glasses off my face and a layer of skin off my cheek... end of 914 weekend! I'll spare you guys the gorey pictures. Let's just say shaving will be a challenge for a few days! Tomorrow is beer and BBQ.
Long day at work Friday...ran both shops and the service counter because the manager was out...second time this week ...pulled my beehive apart...only got stung twice ...looks like a good year for honey ... after dinner took a bike ride around the lake...tomorrow morning I'll take the turbo for its weekly backroads run....spend the rest of the day with little projects on the house and cars ...Monday....too soon to know...
The alien is still broken. Waiting for the pump to arrive. This is what I do in my spare time. Me and the wife are building a bunk house at our lake lot. I'm raising the rear 8' of the roof tomorrow for a loft space.
