Don't know names but seems like I recall a lot in the Gardena area.
I would think you would find something if you drive up Main, Brodway and Figueroa. That's all Just N. of the 405. There is a little of everything up there.
I also recall doing business at a metal processing place about 20 years ago south of the 405 on Vermont or Normandie?
Sorry so vague.

Hey porsche913b_sp,

Years ago I had ALL my 914 sheet metal Bright Gold Cad plated and thought
I had the Coolest thing! However, after a year or so, rust develped and the Cad Plating stained. I was very disappointed.

While I hate to be a Buzz-Kill and don't know the plating you're looking for, on my current restoration 914 build, I POWDER COATED my metal and believe that this tough coating it the way to go. I did the engine metal in flat black and it looks
WICKED nestled under the Dual Webers.

I did the work myself with a Harbor freight $65 kit and the kitchen oven (obviously I'm single), so I don't know Powder Coating Costs, but believe it should be similar or LESS than plating.

As I suggestion, 914World member Barry does tons of Porsche Powder Coating
in his shop. You could ask him to quote the job: diehardcamaroguy@yahoo.com

Best,
Terry

Thanks for the insight Terry. I wanted to zinc plate some nuts, bolts and some sway bar hardware, so powder coating may not be good on the nuts/bolts. But I appreciate your input.

Best regards

Ted
