gumble, gumble, too fucking long of a day......I hope it was that Mr Prototype who did deleted it and not someone else.....

Would someone mind filling me in? laugh.gif

heh heh rolleyes.gif wacko.gif

Even though we had an IP, it would have been near impossible to get the identity of the person using the IP at the time unless you knew someone who worked for NetZero. Verizon won that case against the RIAA this year concerning releasing information on people reportedly trading music online. So, short of proving the guy is an Al Quaida terrorist, or child pornographer or Kevin Mitnik type.gif , there's no way to say whether it was Alfred or not.

I only saw the first post and a handful of responses, but suffice it to say that it was inflamatory to say the least and from what I saw, had no evidence of any kind to back it up. There was mention of a lot of guests reading the post, and I can see where someone new to the board might get an unwarranted skewed impression of some people I consider to be very upstanding and honest individuals.

Ahh well, live and let live, right?

I found it right here at the club... a few days back.

smilie_pokal.gif

This place is the same kinda funny every couple days, because we have short term memory loss.

Which reminds me..

I went over to my great aunt's, she lives with my great uncle, and his sister..

Anyways, as I got there, he was going up to take a bath, the rest of us sat and talked a few minutes.. I hear the water running... then he yells, "Momma? Was I getting in the tub, or out of the tub?"...

She says, "Oh dear, I'd better go up and check on him... she gets half-way up the stairs, and he yells again, she stops a second, and looks back at us to ask, "Was I going up the stairs here, or down?"..

His sister looks at me, and says, "Lord, have mercy. I may have lost my beauty, but thankfully I still have my mind, knock on wood" as she tapped the table next to her..... "Was that the front door, or the back door?"

That said, it is kind of fun to have a runaway train now and again. Provided there aren't any 914s in front of it.

OK! Seriously, stop with the unsubstantiated calims! They are not even plausible. If it were true, and you were really concerned, you would let him know directly. As much research as has been done, and knowing some of the contacts Brad has, it would have been known by now if it were true. You also would have said how you knew this is true.

Should I call you "My Prototype"? How about signing your real name?

Ever seen "The Shawshank Redemption"? This is the Bradshank Deception:

Brad, an innocent man but falsely convicted, chipping his way out of the cell to crawl 1500 feet in a sewer pipe half filled with used 914 oil. He then strolls into a series of banks where he assumed the identity of rich high-tech investor Andy Schmidt and withdraws massive amounts of cash siphoned from repairing club owners' cars. He then crosses the border into Mexico and restores 914's in a small, beachfront hotel where he is joined later by the real Andy Schmidt who was declared rehabilitated and released but broke his parole.

I love showing up late on a scene. (duh -- I've been away a while) It's been months since I've had a chance to kick back into the 914 groove -- and it's good to come home. I've caught up on many fora, and the 914 universe appears to have been in good hands whilst I tended "other things" -- actually it's prolly done better in my absence -- but enough of that.

I missed out on all the sport over the old rusty car, so forgive me if I'm asking silly questions.

Most cars have an ownership history, yes? There are "records" with"officially sanctions bodies" and so forth, yes? Hey, this is CA. (We prolly have records on silly things -- don't ask.)

Anyway, isn't this really a matter of trundling out the appropriate documents in court and getting a decision?

WX,

I have yet to SEE anything from anyone stating that it is NOT my car. Please feel free to stop by the shop Mon-Fri. from 8am to 6pm "some Saturdays" We will discuss your "dilemma".

I have NO reason to believe anything you say. I dont hide behind alias' and I'm easily located 24/7. San Mateo had NO trouble walking straight up to me... I even introduced myself. I even asked them "why are you really here" when THEY beat around the bush.

If you where truelly interested in the car.. it wouldnt have been in the condition it was.

Brant,

All this could be 100% legit. I DID NOT see the car first. I have NO idea where it actually came from. All I have is a "story". I picked the car up and did the legal paperwork to LOCATE any previous owners so we could learn about the car. The legal work was done and NOTHING showed up on the car. NO history.. NO people. NO previous owners..NADA. As far as I know this could be the San Mateo county Sheriffs office posting here or it could be the original owner... WHO KNOWS ? Right this minute in my life... I dont really care if I go to jail or not. I'll miss Seans Fall Foliage Classic, but other than that it would be a good chance to become a lawyer (like all other prisoners do.)

I can see the next fund raiser:

Bail Brad Out Fund (BBOF) for short clap56.gif

I would be shaking in my shoes with San Mateo breathing down my neck IF I stole the car.

Brad,

It could all just be some freakin cry baby too...
I for one am not going to give him the attention he is craving like a 2 year old.....

You've done nothing wrong..
don't sweat it.

I won't be returning, viewing or commenting on this thread any further as I don't support his immature tactics...

I think we should all drop this and not give baby-boy any more of our time...

Brad which route are you taking to FFC?
If you need a place to crash or a meal.. feel free to swing through colorado, dinner and beer is on me.

This is not legal advise, just sharing some life experience.

I have an old retired attorney friend that did legal defense work. He stated one day that if people wouldn't try to explain their way out of trouble they wouldn't need him. The reason the police come to ask you questions is because they don't have enough info the arrest you. If you start talking to them they will find a way to come back and twist things around to their advantage later.

Ask all the questions, answer questions with questions, and tell them to give you a copy of the complaint, you'll go over it with your lawyer and have him form a response.

BTW: If you need any money for counsel you can count on us for a defense fund, just say the word.

This is a civil matter. The police don't really want to involve themselves in these kinds of grey area's.

let me give you an example: I had a rental property next door to my house. the tenent moved out in the middle of the night ditching me for 3 months rent but abandoned some of their property during the move.

Well one of the items was a 1968 Camero RS/SS. I promptly pushed a huge pile of snow infront of the car with my plow. (can't pay the rent but can pour money into the car!) I figured it would take hours to dig it out and I was right!

I came home and found the renter and a friend shoveling their asses off as fast as they could. (LMFAO) I dropped my blade and pushed the snow back in while they watched.

They ofcourse called the police. The officer told me I couldn't keep the car. I told the officer I realized that but I didn't give these dead beats permission to be on my property and if they weren't going to vacate I insisted he arrest them for tresspassing.

He told the dead beats to get off my property and file a claim in concileation court. BTW: the officer called me an asshole for kicking them off the property! (sound familiar)

the officer got in his car and left.

A lien is a lien! I had possession.

Thanks Rick.

The advice you give is "sound". I have watched many many "cops" lie to get what they want info wise. They become your "buddy", they act like they give a shit, it is all really really good psych work. It is their job to weasel info out of people doing whatever it takes up to a "Rodney King". I dont blame them.. WE pay them to protect and serve. They specialize in pitting your friends against you in seperate rooms (if 3 get busted in one shot.. somebody out of three will squeal.. they will say somebody else already squealed so you might as well come clean..)

The cops shows from the 80's where COOL.

Rick,

I will make the FFC (unless I'm in jail) Right now I'm debating on driving out or flying out. I will need a 914 to drive during the event. I didnt get a chance to drive the Alien during the WCC and really wanted too... just too much going on that weekend.

Ya both of us! You were being pulled form every direction at the AX.
I was swarmed by hundreds of smiling Porschephiles at the Show and Shine on Sunday. We hardly had time to exchange pleasant words. Even at the shop on Thursday afternoon. You were running with your hair on fire answering phones, checking email, selling parts, fixing 914's. Me and Kevin were ready to roll up our sleeves and pitch in.

See ya there if my company doesn't send me to Fla. and let me take the time off. All time off is suspended for now.

I don't know about California but in Alabama there are no titles on cars before 1975. Something that old would not have a title to trace. The only way to get previous owners would be to look for tag recipts.

I seriously doubt the law will care in such a matter, based on the condition of the car. It is indeed a civil matter.

The boys from the south got yo' back.

I have learned one good thing about the world and people:

When a person has no real proof and no real way to defend... They go public and make a lot of noise. The more noise, the less proof.

If a person has real proof there is no need to make public noise, all you will hear is the sound of the person Serving you legal notice, that includes official documents of proof.

Side note: Even I have found lost titles before that say I own a car I sold long ago. But I had to have new titles made because I lost the old one. But then 10 years later I foud the old one and it indeed says I own it.

Just my rambling thoughts.

P.S. Once a complaint is made the Police must show up and file a report. And they need NO proof.

Yep, that pretty well sums it up.

May I have Mr. Instigator / Accuser's IP address?

Maybe he's stupid enough to be on Cable or ADSL.
