I have a pic around here of a school bus conversion, that has a mini cooper stored in the rear. I took the pic over 20 yrs ago at a campground as he drove by. You would have to be carefull as you would be adding some 3000lbs (car 2000 and steel to fab the insert storage) to the GVW of the bus.

yeah, but you have to figure how many kids does one of those hold? 50 maybe? 50 x 100lbs = 5000 lbs. doesn't seem like it would be much of a problem, give it a shot. biggrin.gif

rated for 84 passengers. plenty of hauling capacity and room. would need the room cuz the wife would have my ass out in da bus as soon as it showed up in the driveway! and i don't think the nieghbors would be really pleased with me parking that in the driveway and chopping at it with a torch in the evenings.... some people! laugh.gif

I think it would be pretty cool. You could paint it signal orange....

Dood, I think that could be a bitchen track rig. You could have the whole back just drop-down, revealing ramps. (Think Monster Garage). Put a sliding door with fold-down stairs on the side somewhere. It should be long enough to hold at least one car with race gear, and also put some bench seats, table, micronuker, fridge, tv etc inside.

Just leave it painted school bus yellow but change the writing. stealth.

I Can't find that one on Ebay, but found others some for buy-it-now $2500.

Could be an intersting project.

The big problem is where do you store it?

Anyone know the inside measurements on a school bus?

Posted by: GWN7 Jan 16 2003, 11:23 PM

You store it out in the country or buy a house with a yard big enough to put it in. I have my Pace Arrow in the back yard along with my cars.

I have a buddy that bought a used GMC bus and did what is called "an update" on it. Meaning he raised the roof 2', added 8' to the back (back panels open to store, drive thru style, two motor cycles), put in flooor heating (poured concrete with piping run thru) new air conditioning, air ride suspension, beds, bath, cupboards ect. He can live init summer and winter.

Not sure about inside measurements, but you are restricted to 8' 6" outside measurements in most areas. Figure about 7' 6" inside.

I'll post the pic of the one with the mini if I can find it tomorrow.
